Direct Appointment Scheme 2023 for Civil Service

EOI is short for expression of interest. The 2 grades available through the direct appointment scheme are EO (executive officer) and HEO (Higher Executive Officer). HEO is the more senior of the two.

Hi all. Just wondering if anybody knows the likelihood of not getting an offer for HEO after submitting the EOI?
Has anybody received their HEO offer yet?
Thanks

I cannot for the life of me remember; I think I blocked it all out after receiving the unsuccessful message! I think it might been just under 10

It'll probably be different for everyone, as it will be affected by the locations you said you could work in and which boxes you ticked for the types of work you were interested in. I think DAS try to offer everyone a role, but I suppose if loads of people wanted to do the same type of work in the same place then they might not be able to accomodate it.
Sent off my EOI form and CV on the 14th of July and in the email response it was stated that they will try and match HEO by mid-September. Received a score of 10 and put down location preference of London… very nervous about places left.

Have finally heard back from YDS. I was unsuccessful, which I was expecting. Anyone else have better news?

I had been offered a role through DAS and just done the pre employment checks and a DBS. Does anyone know how long it takes for all these checks to be completed and move on to the next part?

Are you an external candidate? Depends on the type of vetting really…is there’s no security clearance or anything involved it will probably be 6/8 weeks I imagine.

Was this for an EO role?

Yes external candidate for EO role in the home office, I have seen some people say can take several months and some just 3 weeks so was just wondering if anyone here had experienced it tbh

Congrats!!!! Did they end up calling you up and having a conversation or little ‘interview’ with you before offering you the role? Also did they tell you anything about pay rates? The fast stream, I believe, are getting a pay rise and was wondering if this would apply to HEO and EO roles. Still waiting for HEO offers to be sent out and it’s a bit nerve racking

When did you receive the original offer and was it done via email?

I got an email from DAS saying Welsh gov was interested in me. Took ages, finally got an email from the department. They arranged a chat with me and have said they want to proceed with it. Now just waiting on pre employment checks and to hear back from the department higher ups to make sure everything is okay.

Fingers crossed nothing falls through, I am so excited and nervous. I want everything to go smoothly.

Has anyone else heard anything more?

Hi,
Congratulations to all those that have heard back after submitting their EOI for either EO or HEO roles. I received my EOI for EO role June 20th and I submitted the next day. I got a response after 2 days that roles will be matched with the various departments but up till now, I haven't heard anything.

Please, is there anyone in the same boat with me? I would also like to ask if there is something I need to do as well. Your advice and comments will be appreciated. Thank you all!

I don’t think you need to do anything more. You can try sending them a follow up email?
