Are you talking about the Livestrong ones? They go for £1-£4 usually on e-bay.

That's disgraceful....people profting from a charity (providing they're not put up by a charity organisation and we're talking about the one si assume we are).

Why not get them from the actual charity rather than someone selling the things on for profit?

People may well also be paying money for this plastic, using another piece of plastic to do it!

Makes you think, huh?
(EDIT: no.)

Paying twenty pounds for them on e-bay is not only extortionate, but ridiculous and frankly, missing the point. Undoubtedly, the bands are popular items of fashion, but by wearing one you promote a charity. They raise awareness, and the people who buy them have donated to that charity... you would assume. Ten bands from the Lance Armstrong website cost around ten pounds with postage and packing. Bargain! So, why pay twenty pounds on e-bay and not support the charity?

Apparently, everyone who ordered before December 31 will get one. Mine hasn't come yet and I ordered it during anti-bullying week! The high demand meant that they have been slow in getting to the people who ordered them.

I thought the reason for this thread was because they were metioned on Newsround today and the fact that all these Anti Bullying and Anti Rastist bands were getting banned in schools.

How do you get hold of the other bands such as breast cancer etc.? Do you have to order it from the internet or can you not just get them from a shop. I thought the point of charity is that it could be accessible to people.

I have 2 Make Poverty History ones, and to me they're more than just "a piece of plastic" (mine aren't actually plastic anyway!).

But my Livestrong band is pretty much just a piece of plastic
