they definitely could ask about theft yes but as offences against property have been asked in the 2022, 2021 and 2019 paper it is unlikely compared to some of the other topics which have never come up like insanity/automatism or loss of control

also do you guys think we’ll see any property offences in the paper? like last year there was attempted theft and robbery but maybe they could ask about theft again?

they always ask about property offences, so they most likely will.

if we get asked to evaluate non fatal offences in general do we have to explain the whole assault battery s47 s20 and s18 in our AO1? that’s a lot for 8 marks. How do we narrow it down

the would specifically ask for one non-fatal. but if they do I guess write everything to get full marks on AO1

my teacher didnt even teach us evaluation for consent as she thought it is so unlikely for it to come up as it have been asked twice in previous years and NFO has literally never come up not even on the old spec. If its consent all the students in my college are screwed as hardly any of us have revised it in detail. i think intoxication is more likely than consent bc even if theyve asked it in the specimen paper that paper basically counted for nothing. Lets all pray its NFO though:smile:

consent evaluation is really easy tbh, but if you want i could give you my notes.

my prediction on paper 1 tomorrow is

section a:
employment tribunal
juries
ADR

section b:
robbery + duress
gross negligence + unlawful act
insanity + automatism
attempts

evaluation: NFO

It’s unlikely that 3 of the same things from last year come up again

Probably not robbery or attempts. Maybe murder / loss of control / theft / or UAM / GNM I’m guessing. Also you can’t really be asked to evaluate 1 NFO as there’s probably not enough to write about

my actual predictions are:
section A: government funding for criminal cases/employment tribunal / ADR / judicial independence
section B: Duress + theft/ loss of control + diminished / murder / intoxication + insanity
evaluation: OAPA 1861

to narrow it down i would say prioritise mental capacity defences, genreal defences, loss of control and involuntary manslaughter. murder comes up quite a bit and offences against property have been asked alot recently. as for essays defo prioritise the topics that have never been examined: intoxication and NFOAP

so basically revise everything lol

diminished responsibility came up last year so i doubt they’ll ask it again this year

There's no way to really tell, Ofqual has said grade boundaries will be more lenient as these are the first formal exams many of us have sat, but equally I think they'll be far higher than last year
