Hey I am starting the course this September! Could anyone who has done the course say whether there is a two week intensive period of lessons before the official start date- I know that is common place with conversion courses!
Also, does it have reading weeks? And if so, are they for studying or do you have exams then?
Thanks so much!

1.

There is no intensive period

2.

You get one reading week each on the 7th week of term 1 and term 2. They are for studying.

I'm not entirely sure on this one, sorry. Since I was a part-time student. But I do believe full-time students in my cohort were in every day.

Hey! Anyone who did this course- was there any coursework/ exams between 15th-30th December, or shortly after? My friend is getting married in Australia and wants me to come out for 2 weeks around then, but I'm worried that l'll be stressing over a tonne of coursework or having to do exams in the middle of the night!! I obviously want to do well but also wanna be there for my friend- please could anyone who has done the course lmk how busy you were with uni work around this period? Thanks!

Nope, exam period didn't start til January 4th and coursework was in late November/early December. There isn't any coursework during that period. That period's xmas anyway. Enjoy your friend's wedding!

I’ll be starting this course in September!
Just wondering—have past students found it difficult to get a job after graduating? Also, how good is QMUL when it comes to career support and guidance?
I understand that Reddit can sometimes present a more negative perspective, so I’m trying to keep an open mind. That said, I would really value hearing honest feedback from those with first-hand experience.

From what I know, past students definitely struggled to find a job post-graduation as I'm in touch with multiple via a group chat, but I reckon that's more to do with the current job market than it is this course. But a portion did manage to get jobs quickly.

Not used the QMUL career service much myself but heard it's good and supportive. I hope others chime in with their own experiences.

Hi there, I’m also due to start this course in September (PT). Wondered how long 1st year (I believe it’ll be Sem 1 modules) is in weeks? If anyone can advise that’d be great
Thanks!

Meant to say 12 weeks per semester. There are 2 semesters in first year if you're PT and 3 semesters (2 semesters plus the dissertation semester) in 2nd year.
