Heyy for climate change i have an idea ig you could do like a bird house as climate change destroys habitats for birds so this provides them shelter and a "safe spot"

That's a really good idea
But it would need a lot of research to back it up
And you also have to think about who would buy it and for what reasons
And source the materials from sustainable sources etc etc

Reply 21

yeah that's a good one, was thinking also as there's a decline in insects especially flying ones like butterflies, bees etc I could possibly create a house, feeder etc...

Looking at the NEA examples it sure does look daunting

Hi we had to research for homework as well!
Climate change could literally mean anything, but the general theme is trying to tackle rising temperatures in the atmosphere due to global warming. It could refer to trying to cut down on CO2 emissions in everyday life.
Playing games is the simple one imo- it's just about different types of games and entertainment, like monopoly or chess.
Securing/storing personal possessions refers to things like bags, safes, wallets etc.

Hope this helped!

yes thank you x

actually you have a point it seems really complicated and will require a lot and I mean a lot of my time. My second choice is a board game, just need to think of something unique.

For textiles students 2024:
playing games :
U could make a fancy dress outfit for children as it keeps them entertained
U could make something interactive for a a baby
Or you could make something more practice like a hop scotch mat

Other options:

Climate change:
U could make a coat to keep people warm, due to the cost of living crisis some people can’t afford to keep the heating on, which saves the environment
U could make something out of lots of fabric and make patchwork
U could think more outside the box and make something for the climate to maybe help; e.g something for animals

Other options:

Securing and storing personal possessions:
U could make a bag , to store things (including zips and other pockets to keep things secure)
U could make a make up bag, art roll up for paint brushes, picnic roll up to store knives and forks , scrunchies with hidden pocket to store money, clothes with zips or pockets attached

Personally I will be picking playing games as the amount of things you can pick is really good as you can use your imagination to create something, defo aimed at younger clients

Securing+Storing

I think that this one’s is really easy for textiles as you can just make anything it just has to have elements of a pocket or something that can be closed

Climate change:

People are over complicating this one, if you just do patchwork or even explain in coursework why you have used for example natural dye or natural fabric instead of synthetic you will be fine, but again it’s something where u have to sit down and think as it’s really hard to chose a theme

Hopefully this has somehow helped anyone who was struggling…..

Hi - anyone have any ideas on what you could do for securing personal items not for textiles tho - I feel like just making a box is pretty basic.

How do you do research on problems , because in my NEA I have to research but I don't know what to research on other than "gaming bad" .

So I've been working on the problems around board games. You can base it around a number of things such as age limits, number of players, length of time to complete, to many pieces, choking hazards, environmental (carbon footprint), re-playability, complicated instructions (rulebook) time between a players turn.... just kinda think of what bugs you when you play board games...hope that's some help

yeah i agree about the nea contexts, they seemed a bit random to me

my teacher can be alright sometimes, but im worried we wont finish the whole course in time. we're supposed to get a full gcse paper in our january mock but we still have so much left to cover, and we hardly do any theory lessons anymore since we spend so much time on the nea. im thinking of teaching some of it to myself so i can be ready without having to cram so much close to january.

anyone got any good revision sites for the content cause my dt teacher doesnt go over the content and his lessons are just the nea slides?
