Eduqas Business A-Level

I haven't come across any posts from this exam board. Is there anyone experiencing the same thing and doing the same exam board too? I'd love to connect with and engage in a thread regarding predictions and thoughts on the exam

Don't bother with the poster who responded to you; they are trolling and posting ridiculous comments everywhere. On another thread they're claiming to be in the RAF, and clearly not!

I really loved it! It was my favourite paper out of all papers.
Grade boundaries are going to be sky high I have peers who have excelled in every paper with confidence.
How did you find it?

Hey,
I relied heavily on the resources my school gave me, with Eduqas it’s pretty hard to find reliable or good sources online. It’s best to stick with what your school has given you x

Since Paper 1 is coming up, I was just wondering if we can link in economic theories such as AED, XED, net interest margins, competitive tendering, efficiencies, comparative and absolute advantage aswell as wider knowledge on topics such as trade blocs. In my papers 1 and 2, I avoided using these and ended up with 79/80 and 77/80, but on paper 3, I used them and ended up only getting 67/80. Despite my paper 3 being my best-written paper, (I'm not sure if this was due to it not being in the specification.)

The best resources I've come across are Eduqas past papers / mark schemes, examiner reports, and the eduqas-provided knowledge organisers.

However, if you want additional knowledge, I would recommend bizconsesh (general business), The Financial Controller( for comp 2 balance sheets and formulas), and Tutor2U (good in general for business); however, I would advise checking out the economics videos for Brexit and Globalisation in prep for comp 3.

My main evaluation point was focused on the retention of staff and absenteeism using the business example for q8. I suggested that due to the small size of the firm, which had 15 staff, they would struggle to hire additional skilled staff for the same role, and they may want to focus on motivating staff to retain them and reduce potential absenteeism. On top of this, I went on to further compare this to the gig economy and temporary jobs, which may be a more cost-effective method in times of high stress and demand. For the small evaluation points, I looked at how not all of the staffing roles they had were skilled and how experience and training may be less important for those jobs.

ahh i think i went in the complete opposite direction haha, firstly is it essential to apply this to the business in the stem (as the question didnt specify) and secondly do you think its okay that my evaluation spoke about how its not only the staff number and skill that is important but also the compatibility of staff (can they get along on tasks) and the managerial choice (if you put skilled workers under theory X managers they would be less productive). honestly im not sure if its a valid answer but you seem to know your stuff so what would you say 😉

I kept it normal to be honest I just said that it's important if a business strives to be efficient and maintain high production levels as well as retaining quality however employees may feel pressured with multiple tasks if the business employs fewer semi-skilled employees and may therefore feel exploited, leading to decreased motivation levels. Although the business cuts costs by reducing the amount of employees needed as well as training them, skilled workers may demand higher wages which can become costly for a business. Lastly, in times of labour turnover the workforce might struggle if managers misjudge what the 'correct' number employees are
