Verruca won't go away! Please help.

I've had a verruca on the sole of my foot, near the ball for about 2 years. It is about 1.5 cm wide, considerably larger than it was originally. I would note that I have poor circulation probably due to a history of EDs, particularly BN.

I have tried the gel treatment a few times previously, with the filing down and picking at it. This did not work.

I got so annoyed that I used a sterile blade to try and cut it out, but it started bleeding so I had to stop and didn't cut the damn thing out.

I left it and tried the gel stuff again as suggested by my GP but again it's not working.

This verruca is huge and not going anywhere!

Can anyone suggest anything to help? I am getting desperate.

Go back to the doctors, they can freeze it off for you.

Put some vinegar on a plaster, and then put the plaster on it for a couple of days/nights

Worked for my warts, might work for that?

Yes, the doctors will gladly use the nitrogen treatment to freeze your verruca. It will sting a bit and sometimes if the roots are very deep, you'll have to have the treatment for 3-5 times depending how effective it is against it.
I can't offer much advice I'm afraid :frown: I remember having verrucas when I was younger. Ahh they were evil >.< I remember the rubber sock things that I had to wear to go swimming. They were really difficult to get on and off. I just stopped doing P.E, haha.

I'd say go back to the doctors and explain everything. Even if it stings for a bit when they freeze it off it'll be worth it in the end if it's causing you this much bother now

Don't pick it; the virus can spread to your fingers and then you'll have warts everywhere! Keep it covered and go see your doctor.

You're lucky if it didn't bother you.
I remember mine being really painful to walk on. But it got me out of PE lessons so it was probably worth it.

You're doing it wrong. Get some clippers and a craft knife, disinfect them - and go.

I got to agree with this. Worked for me too except I used Apple Cider Vinegar to remove verruca that wouldnt go away for 2/3 years. ACV works better than normal vinegar. It only took 7-8days for it to completely go. During those 7-8days was sometimes painful because as the verruca died, it scabbed/hardened and felt like a stone. I just kept applying it, then cut it out using nail clippers when it became soft.
I stopped when I saw the flesh inside. The whole thing did leave a big hole in my foot although it healed quickly with normal skin barely leaving a scar. I think I overdid it a bit lol but dont think it'll come back.

Just search "apple cider vinegar warts" on google. There's Lots of websites tell you how can do it if you decide to.
What vinegar did you use?

Hi..if you have poor circulation then you may never get rid of your verrucae…you have to have good circulation.
I am a nurse specialising in treating verrucas with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy) for many years…
The idea of treating verrucas with cryotherapy is to cause trauma to the area, then your immune system kicks in and sorts them out..
If your immune system is compromised, or you have poor circulation then you’re going to struggle….
another reason why people struggle with getting rid of verrucas…is athletes foot, it can be useful to use athlete foot powder (not cream) after showers, exercise etc. keep your feet dry. Then treat the verrucas whilst using the athletes foot powder.
Hope this helps.
