Hi guys, how are you all feeling?

On one hand, having looked at the past papers, I know it can't be that hard.
On the other hand, I have barely revised (I am taking additional pure as an additional module which I self-taught myself).
So I am oscillating between states of confidence and panic.

Did you do the one where it wanted you to prove that a(n) and b(n) had either a hcf of 1 or 5? Couldn't figure out where to go with that?

I didn't do it, but I think the point is if n is 2 more than a multiple of 5, then HCF is 5, and if n isn't 2 more than a multiple of 5, a(n) and b(n) are coprime

Yeah, so a(n) = 2n + 1 and b(n) = n^2 + 1 and then you use the fact that h divides 4b(n) - (2n-1)a(n) = 5.
Anyway, congratulations on everyone having finished their exams! Best of luck for results day
