Clarifying student finance rules

Does anyone have a definitive answer to the problem of funding if you do some study with the Open University and then want to study a degree at a brick uni?
I know 60 credits or one year of study with the OU should be ok, and if you have 120 credits over two years or more it could be a problem. But what if you do 90 credits over 2 years? Would this count as two years of funding and you would lose a year's funding from your degree.
Part time study is only counted as previous study for full time funding if you are given a formal qualification (CertHE for 120 credits, DipHE for 240 credits etc).
