I've failed IB, now what?

well, i've pretty much failed it.i hate this system. it's definetely a good pre-uni course but if your not a hard worker (like me) it will pretty much destroy you. The main reason is my maths portfolio and History IA which are both pathetic and due in a few days. i just want to know whether when you resit there are alternatives to internal assesment's because they count for about 25% of your overall grade. i dont want to use another 2 years of my life doing a-levels. please help

um, i meant what now in the title

IF your gonna sit the exams this may, you still have time to catch up. THe deadlines for your IA's are only school-internal deadlines, talk to your IB coordinator about the situation, he or she may be able to extend the deadline. just WORK!! and in 6 months it'll all be over
The real deadline for IAs and EEs and all that stuff are March.....talk to your school, you havn't failed yet. And if you still wanna fail IB, don't fail the IA, it's the one thing which causes the most problem. Apparently your IA grades can be carried over, but your exams can't. So if you wanna retake IA, you'll have to redo the exam. Your IA would have to be done under your teacher's supervision, meaning you can't move school.

So you have 3 months. Do it, put in some work, get it over with, don't prolong this agony.

its almost impossible to FAIL ib... just get a "c" in either the tok essay or ee and get 24 (which is like gettin overall 35% on the final ib exams). Remember, the weighting its crazy, i would know seeing how i finished ib in 2008. I failed my IA for history hands down but its not that hard to pull a 4. to get a 3 in french i simply circled random answers and wrote somethin like my french isnt great but i will try on the sheet and just left half way. Its a feat to fail IB, i must say. The system is to make the "smart" ones shine but does not punish those who are avg.

i know this is counter productive from wut ppl r sayin. But seriously, its not the end of the world if u dont get the IA and EE perfect... i think i got a d- on the EE and IA was like 40% (gotta live my history teacher:P)

all in all, its not over til the bitter end, just do it! in the end, if u have tried ur best and it still isnt good enough, then so be it. Not the end of the world.

best wishes,
