George Stephenson or John Snow college?

I would pick Stephenson just because it's on campus.

Stephenson, only because I live very near to his birthplace (Wylam, Northumberland) and will be walking past it later, just like I did last night! Yes, I am that shallow.

You aren't going to be short of sport opportunities whichever of the two you chose.

So ive put down Business Finance as one of my UCAS options and realise that it is based in the stockton campus. I just wanted to know the pro's + con's of these colleges and which one would best suit me?
im a relatively outgoing/sociable and sporty guy and interested in finance/investment if that helps

Hey,
I'm at queens doing accounting and finance, i'm stephenson so am biased and am obviously going to say join stepehenson  In your first year everybody on the business, business finance and accounting and finance programmes complete the same modules so there is around 250 people in your first year effectively doind the same course.

Adjacent to stephenson college is a floodlit astroturf pitch and we also have the river tees and the tees barage if you are into water sports etc. You can also get involved with team durham, if you don't like the idea of having to regularly travel to durham to participate in sports there are lots of oppurtunities at college level and based in stockton for you to become involved in sports.

One thing to point out is that stephenson doesn't have gowns, so if you would prefer a more traditional approach you may wish to choose (even though i hate mentioning it) that other college

Don't let the fact that the course is based at queens campus put you off, the campus is fairly new and develoing with plans for another college and for more courses to be based here. In my opinion you get the best of both worlds with modern teaching facilities and the reputation of durham university.

I am a durham student ambassador so if you come for a tour at queens campus so chances are if you come for a tour after the christmas break chances are it could be me doing it!

If you have any more questions please feel free to ask

Hope this helps

Surely it's better! Social life here in Durham is quite non-existent! :p:

Stockton really is the worst place to go out. The student night is Monday, and you have the choice of two bars to go to. That being said, Thursday's are really good in Middlesborough (a 5/10 minuite taxi) and we tend to get the free bus up to Durham on the weekends.

I'm in Snow so I think I'd better say why we are so great :p: lol.

To be honest there isnt a huge difference between the two colleges. As already mentioned Snow have gowns, Stephenson dont. Both colleges have numerous societies and theres a wide range of sport to get involved in at Queens. The Snow halls are a little bit further away from uni but dont let this put you off, its liturally a 5 minuite walk, and we are closer to the shops. I'd personally say go for Snow, but I'm predictable!

Hi, which college is better? Especial in academics? What about the social? Which college people are more friendly? Which college has better facilities? Which college has more British? Which college has more international students?

hi Rob, I just got an offer from durham isc. I don't really know about the difference of accounting and finance and pure finance. Is accounting and finance kinda all about accounting? can you please explain more, I quite enjoy finance but I have never done accounting before that's why I'm so confused and don't know which one is more useful, easier or I will enjoy more
