Has anyone heard anything. On the website they say awaiting interview results so thought to check here if anyone has heard anything

Oh yeah, it was still interview slot booked when I checked earlier in the week, changed to awaiting results now..
If I had to put money on a date when we're likely to hear, I'd guess on the 25th (will take a couple of weeks from previous experience).
Hopefully sooner though 😅

If it makes you feel better, I got better than 94% on the maths portion and better than 50% on the judgment portion and didn't even get an interview. My feedback said to put my experience in the STAR format.

I didn't get it either. I think it is really a numbers game with interviews. I can't say I agree with all the feedback given but some of it was valid. It is annoying that it said I got the right technical answers but still only scored me "acceptable" for the technical part.

I got reserve too and have just asked where I'm at on that list. Looking around it seems as though it takes about 6 months to be offered a job after being put on reserve.

If any of you got the job, do you have any tips on preparation for the presentation and questions for these roles? I feel like my interview technique let me down rather than my data analysis which is really annoying :frown:

I got reserved and while I cant speak for the questions (I did really badly on the questions and they let down my whole interview), I scored 6/7 for the technical skills. I spent a long time looking at the data set for gaps in data and unreliable data. Only once I was sure that everything I was looking at was clean and relevant to the information did I produce visuals. I labelled important parts of the visuals and coloured them so that they were accessible to everyone. When I was presenting, I talked through my entire thought process (including how I cleaned, arranged and analysed the data and why I chose the specific visual). I also explained all of the graphs even if I thought they were basic. I'm not sure how you'd get a 7 but my advice is just to leave nothing out. My interview technique for the questions was also lacking which is a shame. Remember this is a learning curve for all of us and we should be happy to have even received an interview.

Thanks for your reply! I will take this on board for next time.

Can i inbox you and may be share my feedback to see where i struggled most and see what i can do different.

Considering a lot of us didn't get the job on here, it sounds we were either up against experienced data analysts or maybe not all of the 53 vacancies are being filled at once (the latter less likely).

As the role is very high paid, there were quite a few analysts with 10+ years of experience going for it. Your second point is also true. They're filtering in people from the reserve list over the year.

I have received a provisional offer for Manchester.
My overall score at the interview was 34.
Things the panel appreciated - if it can help anyone for future interviews - was the focus on data quality assurance, the clarity of the presentation, the detail provided when covering quality/reliability. Aw, and the timing of the answers, they said they were excellent.
They also said that better examples on the experience questions could have helped me score higher, although they liked my responses.

Congrats 👌 it's good to get a ball park idea of how people scored (I got 30 for reserve list) I would guess that the threshold is different depending on where you applied also.

Apologies to the person who has contacted me privately, unfortunately the platform doesn’t let me send private messages because it says I haven’t interacted enough with users. It looks like I should be in the forum for at least three days, and I’ve only found it today.
To answer your question, yes, the analysis was done through pivot tables and charts, although some calculations needed doing in the source table. I have also explained those passages while talking through the method used, perhaps some may have thought it unnecessary as it was obvious that in order to get to certain conclusions there had been some further reworking of the data?

It was me. I have applied for couple other data analyst positions and wanted some advice on the presentation and the communication part for the technical assesment. Do you remember any of the specific questions they asked .

I have been reading the threads here and congrats to everyone who was successful at the interview. I was put on the reserve list too but that’s what mainly happens with HRMC large recruitment as I am an internal applicant based in Manchester. Civil service recruitment is abit unconventional so understanding the process does help. But all in all excited to meeting everyone who will be based in Manchester.

I have noticed this too. If successful they put you on the reserve list or being reviewed after giving result. Do you know why they do this and when they get back to everyone?
