I have noticed this too. If successful they put you on the reserve list or being reviewed after giving result. Do you know why they do this and when they get back to everyone?

From my 6years experience the reason for this is to give offers from the top scores on the merit list down to the list. And also to get resources in place to get things rolling like checks and training

Makes sense thanks for that. I think if all stages are successful then reserve list and work in order of merit and if stages left than application being reviewed. Do you think you got the job even though you are currently in reserve? Did you apply for caseworker, 311 and 312 as well?

Well I know I passed the interview and I would receive an offer at some point so I’m not really worried just a matter of time and no I didn’t apply for the caseworker role as I am currently and been doing it since 2020. I just needed a change in career hence the transition into Data

How do you find the caseworker role? Do you enjoy it? Is it a stressful job? Just asking as I've applied & waiting to hear back, I've heard mixed reviews.

It’s very good. You loads of training and support to get the work done. And it’s very independent no pressure depends on the tax head you find your self

It was me. I have applied for couple other data analyst positions and wanted some advice on the presentation and the communication part for the technical assesment. Do you remember any of the specific questions they asked .

Regarding the data analysis, I remember they asked me if I had thought of other data that was missing in the dataset that I would have liked to see in order to deepen my analysis - I think I said it would have been good to have data on social class of buyers/sellers and whether they were private buyers or investment companies.
Another question was from the technical member of the panel, she asked me to explain to the non-technical member how I calculated the 12-month change. I think this was both to go through my technical skills and also to see how I would explain a technical matter to a non-expert person, as this was part of the communication skills.
I think there was another question or two on the data analysis, but I can’t remember what it was. If it comes back to me I’ll add.
I got put in reserve list too. I scored 31. Please everyone can you list the questions yout got asked in interview or if feeling generous the answers you gave for us who didnt get the job or got put in reserve list to prepare for next interview ahead. In my feedback they were happy with the technical part of assesment but the experience based questions and the strength ones i didnt do well enough and could have scored higher?

So with there being 53 vacancies advertised.. I'm guessing this means not all of them will be starting in November/December so they can do training in smaller cohorts?

Well the 53 covers all the locations where they have vacancies, so yes it’s possible not everyone one would be starting in November and December. Depend on the number that needs to be filled for each location and the number of people who are on the waiting list
I emailed the recruitment team yesterday asking I for my position on the reserve list in Manchester and they responded saying I’m 2nd position for manchester which really surprised me. Not they waiting begin.

I imagine Manchester is one of the more competitive ones (usually the case with the tax specialist scheme) so congrats 👌 hopefully not a long wait! Do you mind me asking what you scored in the interview?

Yes hopefully. My score for the interview is 31. So I was quite shocked when they said I’m 2nd on the reserve list. I guess that’s after making offer to other people who may have scored higher.

I'm 5th on 30 for Cardiff.. it's a shame they can't show you on the applications portal where you are on the reserve lists

congrats you are not very far off. And tbh that’s something that could be put on feedback as it would reduce the request they have to deal with when people want to know their position on the reserve list. So for now we wait and hopefully offers start flying soon.

Hi, I just wanted to check if you’ve been taken off reserve or been given an update on your position by any chance?

For me I have not been giving any offers but looking at the job information this is what it says:-

Vacancy timeline

Complete online tests and submit application by: 23:55 on Monday 31 July 2023
These dates are indicative only and subject to change:

Sift will take place during the weeks commencing 31 July and 7 August 2023
Interviews will take place during the weeks commencing 21 August, 28 August and 4 September 2023
Start date although every candidate is different, it’s helpful to have an idea of when you might start in the role. For planning purposes only we anticipate successful candidates starting in post between mid-November and mid-December 2023’’

So after December if I don’t get any offers then I start getting worried.
