The Student Room Group

I don’t have many friends?

I used to have a good network at uni ( I had 5 really good friends)

Then we drifted apart for whatever reason, work , life etc and we just don’t see each other anymore and tbh it was just *****iness in the group after a while.

But now I think I have just 1 good friend? Like what does one class as a friend? Because obviously I’m friendly with people at work and a few of them I would definitely see outside of work, but they’re not currently friends’

I’m just worried that people will think I’m a loner because I don’t have tonnes of friends, I hear my colleagues saying they’re so busy until October cos they’re doing stuff with friends and I’m just like oh god I’m so boring I’m TOO free and available because I have no friends.

I like my boyfriends friends / cousins and we get on and I also worry they think god where are her own friends’ - don’t get me wrong I like my own company but I just worry how other people perceive my lack of friendships

You should look to make people at work that you like your friends. In previous generations, many people developed strong friendships with people at work and held those friendships for decades.

Unfortunately, young generations don't seem to have the social skills to hold on to real friendships. Many people are friendly but refuse to open up to develop strong friendships.
