Can't say if you'll be fired but I believe it's considered stealing to even open an item before paying for it. Maybe you could try apologizing and explaining you were unaware of that and they might let you stay.

It’s difficult to know, it depends what the corporate culture is like and possibly how clearly the rules were explained to you. I would hope you might get off with a warning if you explain what happened and are apologetic. However the fact you are suspended doesn’t bode well and you have precious few rights. I would try to get some advice and maybe representation from a union rep.

Hello I work in Sainsbury’s and I’ve been suspended for taking an item (a drink) consumed it and paid for it 3-4 later I was served by another colleague and both CTM saw me on camera paying for it and I was suspended do u think I’ll get fired?

I think at the worse you'll be given a severe written warning, make sure you apologise for the mistake and learn from this so that you will never be in this situation again. You'll not be given a second chance if you do something like that if they give you the opportunity to stay on. Everything will be dependent on what the other staff members say about it when management do the investigation.

I'll be surprised if you were sacked for a drink that only worth probably under a pound.

At the end of the day they see it as theft regardless of you eventually paying for it 3-4 hours later as you should have went and paid for it straight away and kept receipt incase of being pulled up for perhaps not paying it.

They have suspended you so they can investigate the situation. You'll best get in touch with your union representative if you are a member for there advice on this as that way you can explain the whole situation to them.
