‘We are reviewing the outcome of your pre-employment checks’

Hi,

Has anyone else had the following message. I sent off my SC / CTC on 29th June and the portal updated yesterday and it now says:

‘We are reviewing the outcomes of your pre-employment checks

We will contact you as soon as a decision has been made’

Has anyone had this message & if so how long did it take for anyone to get in touch / update again?

Hopefully I’m overthinking but I’m worried this means I’ve failed my CTC even though I’ve no reason to fail.

Thank you

Hi

In the same boat as you, but everything has been checked and cleared. My best guess is this is just a default message whilst they gather up enough candidates to send out proper offers.

It is cryptic and unhelpful - but it's best not to stress and just wait and see.

I’m in this same boat. Any update on if this was resolved?

Hello ai just received the same message. Did you pass the SC after that message? What happened next? My Referees have not still been contacted. My brain is all over the place.

Wow. I'm happy it got sorted for you.
I'l just received a call from my line manager. Introducing himself etc. which is weird as I've had no official offer. I hope you're enjoying it. Thanks again x

I have the same message in my portal. Five minutes later I got an email from Civil Service explaining about my new pension. I assume that I have the job but I'm still not handing my notice in yet. I thought you'd get a letter with a formal offer before the pension email. Did anyone else get the pension email first?

Hi. I've had a call about my start date from my lm, my pecs have been completed since 7/5/24, he confirmed my start date but as of yet I've not received my offer letter. I'm assuming it will be sent next week so I can officially hand it in.

Yeah had mine after that particular pec was complete. Still not had my official letter, yet I spoke to my LM on the 17/5/24 and they confirmed my start date.

Oh that's put my mind at ease a bit. Are you with the HMRC and was the number a withheld one?

Sorry, no. It's DWP, and it was a generic 0800 number, I did google it but it just said DWP. All recruitment is managed via CS, so I believe they all follow the same format and as it's 2 different departments it can be chaotic, my LM told me I needed to select that I was accepting my role provisionally but you have to do all that BEFORE they even start the checks. 😂.

Thanks. I provisionally accepted the job and yes like you said they then do the PECS. Maybe me provisionally accepting it means I'll just get a call hopefully tomorrow 😁 I've still not had the email to say I passed my checks yet though but I did get the email congratulating me on my new position within the Civil Service and my Pension choices. Lol. I was a manager in my last job so this all seems very back to front for me. Lol. I'm pleased that you've had your start date though. Will it be soon?

It is very backward, not until July. I applied for this role in February. It's very long winded but I suppose as it's civil service they have to go through the rigours checks.

I'm wondering if that is when I'll be starting too. I applied for my role in March. I'm pleased that I have the job though as I can't wait to start my new exciting journey in Wales. I've loved my whole 53 yrs in Kent so this is totally new to me. I also have worked 32 yrs in the NHS so again this kind of work is all new to me. I'm so pleased that you have your start date 😁 I'll let you know when I get mine.

I got an email with my start date then handed my notice in. I had exactly 1 month from the date of the email to starting my new job. I've been there since July 1st 😁 Good Luck.

Cheers - my account is now showing:

Congratulations you’ve passed our pre-employment checks.
You'll be contacted shortly to advise what will happen next.

Guess it means more waiting, hopefully not as long

Yes unfortunately it is. I got an email about pensions first before I got the official job offer. It's all done back to front. Congratulations 😁
