Hi Everyone!!

The interview process can be a stressful period so we thought best to give you an idea of when and how interviews will take place :smile:

All Medicine and Surgery interviews are planned to take place between December and February. Applicants we wish to interview will receive an email, which will invite them to book an interview slot within one of the sessions available. A deadline for booking the interview will be included in the email and after this date has passed, it will not be possible for applicants to reserve a space.

As regards to the question from @Medichopeful2005, all Home applicants will be interviewed in person through a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) process. International applicants will be interviewed by a panel of two interviewers either on campus or by video conference. The panel interview will ask a comparable set of questions to those covered in the MMIs.

A document by Newcastle on whatdotheyknow showed that last year the lowest candidate interviewed actually had a score of 2510, does anyone know how this was as the PARTNERS cutoff was 2700?

How much do you guys feel the PARTNERS cut-off for this year will vary from last years. Do you think it'll go up or down?

I think it’ll go down because they put out that the cutoff was 2700 and has dropped a bit the last few years, so i feel more people with lower scores will of felt more confident to apply? At least i hope this is the case as i got 2720 lol

same ahaha, applied with 2700 so i'm hoping the threshold doesn't go up.

Hi @rh1209

Our Medicine and Surgery MBBS programme accepts applicants via the Sutton Trust Pathways to Medicine programme. This pathway is separate from standard PARTNERS and Widening Participation (WP) supported entry routes and has a lower UCAT threshold, and as such is not included in general UCAT threshold publications.

This will be through Sutton trust, their cut off is 2500

Anyone have any educated guesses on when Newcastles interviews will drop? I’m guessing possibly within the next week or two for very early interviews, however that’s purely speculation.

I’m also assuming Newcastle will release their interviews in batches due to their relatively broad interview period.

Can anyone shed any further light?

last cycle they sent the first batch on November 18 so I'm guessing it's either tomorrow (just going off of the fact that november 18 was a friday last year ik it's a far stretch) or next week for December dates

in the confirmation email, they said they'd start sending them out in early december

I heard the same from a friend that they plan to start sending out from next week but you never know with these unis
