Welcome to the King's College London A100 2024 Entry Discussion.
2023 thread: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7214351
For general information click: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/undergra.../medicine-mbbs
For entry requirements click: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/undergra...y-requirements
Selection process: Generally, UCAT score accounted for 50% of the ranking, GCSE Individual and School performance, 40% and other widening participation factors, 10%. The UCAT score is calculated by multiplying their UCAT score percentile rank (compared to other KCL applicants in that cycle) by 100 with points added according to the SJT Band: 10 points for Band 1, 5 for Band 2, and 0 for Bands 3 and 4. For GCSEs, points were awarded according to the number of A*s achieved at GCSE (subject is not considered). Less than 5 scored 0, 5 scored 10, 6 scored 20, 7 scored 30, 8+ scored 40. Scores were adjusted according to the GCSE attainment quintile of the school. If the school performance sat within one of the lowest two quintiles, then we also counted A grades achieved at GCSE towards the A* count mentioned above. For schools in the 3rd quintile, each A grade is considered equivalent to 0.5 of an A*. For schools in the top two quintiles, no adjustment is made. Note that this scoring system is reviewed each cycle and may not remain the same.
General TSR rules:
(1) Please don't ask for, advertise or mention group chats.
(2) Please don't ask for or post interview questions.
(3) Please don't offer to buy and sell items.
Good luck!

Thank you for the detailed information, however I couldn’t find the scoring information on King’s official website, so I am just wondering do they still use the above mentioned formula for the selection process for 2025 entry? What is the source of this formula? Does anyone know about this? Thank you so much😊

Hello all. I have made a spreadsheet for 2024 applicants. Please fill out your information as we go along so current and future applicants can be guided. I have added my email on the page for any questions or issues.
The link allows you to view and edit:

quick note: Yes I've added questions that we will only be able to answer after hearing back in advance.
Thank you!

Hi
Lovely effort. Is there any similar spreadsheet for school leavers which you could direct me to? Thanks

Far too many A100 applicants for this to be viable, so one has never been set up

Regarding the Admission statistics, I remember calling up most of the universities in UK around August/ September 2023. The most unanimous answer I got from all of them is that they will not release the admissions results of the current 1st year medics until after last UCAT exam or until UCAT results are released. One uni said to wait until UCAS submission in October 15 which was a bit stressful as it made choosing my options harder. They told me to use the previous year application cycle as a reference. Some unis admissions team went out of their way to have a look for me for any available public stats and others also emailed the head admissions tutors to refer me to them if I had any further questions. I would 100% recommend you call up their admissions team & email them. You can request them for the stats or Qs related to it, you could also ask when they would release them etc.

For anyone who has done their id photo upload, on the preview of the id card, did your picture look a little bit pixelated or blurred?

Hi, I got 2760 Band 3 in my UCAT:
620 = VR
650 = DM
610 = QR
880 = AR
My current A-Level preds are A* AA, and my GCSEs are 9887777654. Am I competitive enough for an interview? Or should I apply for EDMP

did you get an interview?

Hi
I am currently a medical student (1st year) but last year, I was in the same position as all of you guys!
I ended up getting an interview, then offer (which I turned down) for KCL.
I know how difficult it can be to prepare, ESPECIALLY if you don't have experienced individuals around you such as siblings/cousins/relatives/friends that were successful applicants. Point being, I would love to provide help for those that really need it i.e. contextual applicants. I enjoy helping anyway, and absolutely loved the interview parts of my application process. Please PM me, and ask me anything you want

Hi, do you mind tell your stats when you applied to kings. I have 6A*3A, 2860+Band 1, 3A* predicted. I’m not sure about my gcse as I know other applicant have 8.

Last cycle i got 2980 B3 with full gcses, was interviewed mid Feb and got an offer a few weeks later. If you have other "safer" options then he'll be fine. I had it as my aspirational choice. Kings tend to be slow compared to other unis so be prepared to wait it out.

That's positive to know! My child has full GCSEs and 2930 but Band 3 (non contextual). Practically everyone has discouraged us from applying. We're betting our hopes on the high SJT Band 3s (38%) and low Bands 1+2 (49%) this year. And also speculating that KCL applications might be impacted due to UCL/Imperial taking UCAT this year. Fingers toes all crossed

Hi, does anyone know when some of the last King's interview invites were sent out last year? I've applied for 2025 entry and I still haven't heard anything back. I max out GCSE and A Level requirements, my personal statement's pretty good but my UCAT is 2760 B1

Reply 1117

Hi, what was the lowest Ucat score invited for interview home student?

Hi all, I’m starting A100 in 2025 and I’ve been thinking about getting a head start on some reading material for first year. I understand the official reading lists haven’t been released yet, but I was wondering if any current or former students might have advice on where to begin or would be happy to share any resources or reading materials they’ve found helpful.
Thanks in advance. I really appreciate any guidance!
