what is going on with student finance???

i have no idea what to do, i’ve just finished my foundation degree and gotten a letter in the post saying that student finance isn’t paying for me to do the top-up bsc or any other course i’d want to do. i don’t understand why, my mam is a single parent working in retail and i just have a little zero-hours contract job to do alongside uni, there’s no chance i can afford to pay it myself. the degree is over £9,000 and even the back up course i was looking at in case this one didn’t go right is over £5,000k
