https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/media/lancaster-university/content-assets/documents/edi/EDIAnnualReport2021-22PostCouncil.pdf Hi you want page 21 and from there you can look at each international student according to ethnicity.
Hard to say about the weekends. When my daughter was in first year, her townhouse of 12 came from all over. The closest flatmate to Lancaster was in stockport, so maybe about an hour away? The rest was all over, nottingham, stoke on trent, birmingham, edinburgh, even Jersey. So some of those places you cannot nip back every weekend.

If you are to go back every weekend you have to factor in the trainfare costs, and also time. We have this with my youngest. Not lancaster but NTU. She went to Reading realised she wanted to be more closer to us in nottingham and will be studying at Notts trent brackenhurst campus, and wanted to come back at weekends (which is 3 buses away). Its totally fine, but you do have to factor that time travelling there and back, and how much it will cost, and how long that can be sustained for. Come second year, you may want to live in the city and visit home less as you gain more independance.

Hey @GayleB,

It can tend to take a little longer around this time due to the influx of applications in January, I remember mine took a while to come in and I was really anxious about it! I hope you hear about your offer soon, and good luck!

Hi!

Yes, accommodation will have a wardrobe, but not all have chest of drawers. I used the drawers in my desk for some of my clothes in first year.

If you would like to have a look at some examples of accommodation at Lancaster University you can go to the university's YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/@LancasterUniversity). There is a playlist called 'Accommodation tours' which will give you some short videos of different room types.

Hope this helps!

Can we request for a double bed in a en-suite
Hi Anon,

I've had a look into this on the undergraduate accommodation pages.

The website says that "the vast majority of our beds are single size - 900mm wide and either 1900 or 2100mm long. ... Only the self-contained studios and some rooms in Bowland Hall are larger at 1200mm wide, and the family flats vary from one to the next so you should check the details for each when applying." https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/accommodation/undergraduate/#how-big-are-the-beds-403345-5

"Rooms in Bowland Hall cost between £165.06 and £191.10 per week depending on the facilities provided (those priced higher offer a wider "3/4 size" bed and soft seating in the kitchen/diner)." https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/accommodation/undergraduate/bedrooms-with-ensuite-bathrooms/#how-much-do-they-cost-552720-1

"Single studios are fitted with a bed measuring 1900mm long x 1200mm wide..." https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/accommodation/undergraduate/self-contained-studios/#how-much-do-they-cost-403427-0

So it would seem you may be able to get a small double bed (3/4 size) in a Bowland Hall ensuite or in a single studio.

You could always email the accommodation team to check directly with them as they'll be the experts on these types of questions. [email protected]

Hope that helps
