That makes a lot of sense. I think if you accept a course then the other providers should be informed. It might be best to check with your get into teaching advisor, they might be able to add clarity.

by Uni_student3132Just another question, is it acceptable to accept an offer at a uni after you have already said you will attend an interview at another uni? Will the other unis just be told through the gov website that I won't be attending anymore?
I had the same thing last week - fairly sure I’m going to accept my offer for Manchester but had already confirmed two other interviews. I just emailed each of them to explain that my situation had changed and thanked them for the offer of an interview, then withdrew my applications on the gov.uk website once they’d replied. One was a SCITT with an academy trust that runs about half the schools in the area I’m likely to end up wanting to teach so didn’t want to just ghost their emails if I’m probably going to want a job there one day! That obviously shouldn’t be an issue with uni-based courses. I think if you accept your other offer or withdraw from the ones you no longer want to interview for they’ll be informed either way

Just got an offer from Durham!
The interview was so much better than I expected. They did everything possible to make us all feel really calm about it which just made the whole day (well, 3 hours) feel like a much more positive experience.
As I really don't want to spend money or time (with exams coming up) getting to the other interviews, I'm definitely going to accept this!

Probably a good decision. For me, I'm happy with Durham and would just rather have the process over with as soon as possible, but seeing what the other places are like isn't a bad thing.

Luckily for me all of my interviews are online due to the fact that i'm living and working in a different country. It makes the interviews seem a lot less stressful and I don't need to plan any travel or accommodation etc. I think if they were in person interviews my outlook on the whole interview process would be slightly different.

Yeah, would definitely make things a bit easier. I have to travel for hours and stay overnight for a few of them. Less than ideal. Durham was always going to be the easiest to get to so now I'm very happy that was first.

Has anyone applied for teacher training via Ambition Institute?
i have an interview but i'm not sure if applying via Ambition Institute is a good idea - it does have Teacher Training accreditation from the Department for Education but is it better to apply via the GOV site?

I haven't applied to ambition institute but it may be better to apply via the gov site if you are planning to apply for a few others as well. I don't think its a big deal though

I've received a conditional offer from UCL for pgce secondary science! Have to complete a subject knowledge enhancement course beforehand but I'm so glad
