Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the government bursaries it says it’s paid for a minimum of 10 months, the course I’ve applied for is 12 months long does that mean I will get the amount over the 12 months or will it just be given over 10 months of the course ?

Also when do we usually receive confirmation that we will be getting the bursary and information About when it will be paid?

I've now had all three interviews and got offers from all! I have decided to accept Cambridge - so I will be going there in September to study Early Primary 🙂 Massive good luck for everyone else who has interviews coming up -> try not to be too nervous, be yourself and smash it!

Well done!

I agree with not being too nervous. Mine at Durham was super relaxing and they understood that we would be a bit nervous for it. Also, if you do make a mistake, don't panic! You will make mistakes when teaching so as long as you stay calm, it should be ok!

Hey everyone! I am hoping to apply for PGCE Primary courses to start in September 2024, but I am currently travelling overseas until mid-April 2024. Do unis still offer interviews after April for Sept 2024 start or do I need to interview earlier than that?

Unis will offer interviews until their courses are full, which for primary, it more likely to happen than secondary maths, for example. However, all the unis I looked at offer online interviews for applicants who are abroad.

I accepted my offer ages ago but just got an email saying that I "need to respond to my offer as soon as possible". Is this just an automated thing that is sent 30 days after an offer is given, regardless of whether you have accepted it or is something wrong with me accepting the offer? I got an email to say I accepted it and my referees were able to give their references.

I received conditional offered for Physics (PGCE with QTS] From University of Sunderland.
The condition is for me to pay my tuition before giving full admission letter offer .
Please how can I go about getting bursary or scholarship to pay my tuition. I have Bsc with grade more than 2:2 .

Hi Scary,
Congratulations on the Offer. I saw that you were also interviewed by Cambridge and I just wondered what was the deciding factor to go with Oxford? My Son was interviewed by Oxford on Thursday 14th, and he spent around 5 1/2 hours in the Cambridge department of education yesterday 15th. He is also planning to do Secondary Maths. I'm just trying to understand the differences between these two. Thanks

I was trained as an English and history teacher, and all I really wanted to do was to teach English and history to others. But, in recent years everything has been infested by politics, and whatever you do or say it is not acceptable to someone. It is either too calculated, too inconsidered, too long or too short. The best thing then is to keep one's mouth shut, and return to good old shakespeare, dickens and george eliot. If that is too much, sophocles can always be revived. And I am preparing a vegetable garden.
