Russian revolution. If it was a coup or a revolution. My teacher hasn’t been in for nearly month and I have no idea how to write or plan it.
My class is almost done with the content.

I would start by making a table of the arguments - list 2-3 arguments for why it would be a coup and 2-3 for why it would be a revolution. From there I would then build a conclusion (so what your opinion is and how you can support that with the evidence you have given) and then finally an introduction as you'll have a clearer idea of what you're arguing to write it effectively! Because of the difference in exam board, I'm aware that the way that we have to write our coursework might be different so I've given you quite a generalised answer! Hope this helps, give me a shout if you have any questions

Okay thx!

How would I come up with arguments? The main resource I have is the textbook 💀

Should I watch YouTube documentaries and
read articles?

Yes definitely! Reading and watching materials around the subject absolutely will help you

Our coursework definitely works differently - with aqa we choose one of 5/6 questions made up by our school and approved by the exam board, then completely research it ourselves with a main body essay, three sources to analyse and two historiographies to analyse! So for example, I'm doing the suffragettes for mine.

But yes something I have found useful in my research with coming up with my arguments is doing some reading around - I'm not sure how it works for your exam board for if you have to reference those materials or not (for aqa we do), but if you do then make sure you keep a word document of everything you watched and read and what you took from it so it makes referencing much easier!

I hope this is helping at least a bit lol

FINAL YEAR OF SCHOOL :frown: *sigh*

one last time :bawling: :

hey guys!! i'm tazmeen. i'm doing maths, english lit and sociology alongside an epq (it's about individual rights vs collective security in case anyone was wondering).

i'm planning on applying to law at uni and solicitor apprenticeships too. for unis, im applying to Oxford, LSE, UCL, Exeter and Warwick (still deciding on the last one. hopefully after visiting Warwick in october, ill be able to make a decision).

as for solicitor apprenticeships, i'm applying to around 6-7 firms. still deciding but some of the ones i'm sure i'll be applying to are A&O, Linklaters, CMS and Ashurst. i'm thinking maybe Pinsent Masons, Mishcon de Reya and DLA Piper too.

unfortunately i have to do the lnat which is literal pain but yk...i gotta do what i gotta do sooooo

i think im just looking forward to just having my time back after year 13. these days i feel like theres always something to do so it will be nice (but weird) to have some time to myself. but i think ill be more sad than happy to finish year 13...i'm going to leave school. absolutely everything will be changing and im NOT good with change

Hey sorry for the late reply and I can’t find ur message anymore but it’s Mattie from primary lol
*if you guys haven't yet submitted your application, you can get your personal statement checked by a TSR reviewer (i wish i knew about this before lol !). read more here: Get your personal statement reviewed by a TSR PS reviewer before you submit - The Student Room*

Woo-hoo!!
We've finally reached the final year of our further education!

How are you all feeling? Scared, nervous, excited?

Year 13 can truly be a nerve-racking experience but this thread has been created to encourage each other to get through the lows and celebrate the highs.

Here are some questions to introduce ourselves:
-What A-Level subjects are you studying?
-What course are you thinking of applying for?
-Do you have to take any entrance exams?
-Favourite food?
-What are you looking forward to doing after year 13?
-Hobbies and interests?

Here's to a successful year ahead of us!
Work hard and look after yourselves, we can do this!!!

Hi, I am ready to get this year done and dusted. I’m ready to get my results I need and want.
I am studying health and social dipolma, sociology and History
I have applied for child nursing
No I don’t have entrance exams
My favourite food has to be chocolate
I’m looking forward to having a relaxing few months before starting Univesity
Hey all! I've just made a thread for anyone who has received an offer from Winchester University - I have left a link below so do check it out! Hope to see some of you there soon

The Official Winchester University Offer Holder Thread 2024 - The Student Room
hello, is there anyone applying for Linguistics?
Hello there year 13s!

Just a quick message to say a huge congrats to those who already have offers from the universities you’ve applied for; but to those who have not yet received all or any or have not yet applied to university, please rest assured this is absolutely normal. Universities will be making offers from now until April/May time, which is still a fair few months away. Plus, when you receive your offers has no bearing on how well you did on your application or how likely you are to get a place it varies by university, but also by course, and by year depending on how many applications your course receives.

Totally understand that it can be stressful and frustrating waiting on offers (I didn’t receive any until April!) however please try not to feel worried, just sit tight, they will come when they come, the very best of luck to you all! 😊

Whilst we’re here, here are just a few tips you might find helpful over the Xmas holiday period…

Be aware of that 31st January application deadline (a short page on UCAS to help here!). This is the date you will need to submit your uni applications to get ‘equal consideration’ so be sure to start getting as much info as you can about your UCAS options and to start thinking about those personal statements in the new year.

Be aware of the dates of any exams or mock exams you have at School in the new year I found it helpful when I was in year 13 to have a colour-coded revision timetable on my phone so I could schedule sessions ‘little and often’ as well as differentiating them from my social activities and ‘relax its Xmas’ time! And on that note…

Relax - *it’s Christmas! Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, its important to take plenty of time to relax, have fun and take a good break. This will really help you to ‘mentally rest’ so you’re able to jump into the new year.

Please do find your universities on the offer holder mega thread and be sure to post on those when those offers come in to chat with peers and official university reps.

Very best of luck to you all in your next steps give us a shout if you need anything 😊
