are level 3 btechs really acceptes the same as a levels by universities?

im starting sixth form in sept, and have just now made my subject choice (art a level, philosophy a level and media (journalism) level 3 btech, with a latin 2 year course on the side, and an epq in my second year). however, im unsure about my choice in taking journalism as its a btech and not an a level, and i know im quite capable of getting into good arts universities in the future, however its making me paranoid that this choice can cut down my opportunites in the future.
You dont need a BTEC in Journalism - do an A level in English, Sociology, Law, Politics etc instead.
That will leave far more future options open to you.

I'm a bit confused as to why you're doing a Journalism BTEC if you're going into Fine Art/History of Art? Could you not just do a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Art & Design? If you want to do a practical Fine Art course a BTEC is perfectly acceptable. No need to do A Levels in unrelated subjects! I haven't seen any arts universities suggest that a Level 3 Extended Diploma wouldn't be accepted, UAL certainly accepts them for instance.
If you're more interested in art theory then definitely ditch the Journalism BTEC. Obviously it's up to you but in your shoes I also would ditch the 2-year Latin course (absolutely no need to overstretch yourself like that, many unis offer the option of language modules or free/cheap language lessons and Latin is often included), and go for History as a third A Level. If you're doing A Level art I don't see the point of the epq. Could you do Classical Civilisation or something instead of Philosophy? Media and/or Film Studies are also good options esp if you're interested in digital arts or digital humanities (highly relevant to curation jobs for eg). A Levels are already a big jump from GCSE, absolutely no need to make life harder for yourself.
