Teesside university mental health nursing

I was just wondering if anyone is currently studying mental health nursing and can give me some advice and information about the course!

TIA
Hi there,

I hope you managed to find out some info about what it's like studying mental health nursing at Teesside. I hope you are enjoying the course! Do you have any advice or experiences you'd like to share with anyone thinking of starting?

For anyone starting a mental health nursing degree this September, or thinking of applying for next September, an excellent point to note is that you spend 50% of your time learning theory at the University, and 50% of your time on placement, learning your practical skills in the real-life setting. This prepares you for your future career, as you gain practical experiences early on. You benefit from a wide variety of placement types including in hospitals, in the community, in a GP practice and more. While in the university setting, our facilities include state-of-the-art simulations and mock wards, supporting your practical skills too.

There is a range of modules to help you gain the knowledge, skills and experience needed, from the fundamentals of nursing practice, to nursing decision-making.

Why not check out our course page here to find out more about the modules, how you'll learn and how you'll be assessed? You can also come along to our next open day on Wednesday 16 October to see our facilities, chat to current students, and ask the lecturers any questions. You can book your place here.

I hope this helps anyone interested in mental health nursing at Teesside. Feel free to get in touch if anyone has any questions! 🤗

Thanks,
G
