Hi there!! My application went in on the 20th November, I'm applying for Law LLB and I'm predicted A* A* A (and predicted A* in EPQ), I think some people on this thread have already had law offers? I was just wondering whether Exeter is only considering Tier 1 applications at the moment for law as I believe I'd be Tier 2, and how long did people have to wait to hear back? Many thanks!! xx

Hi if it's helpful I'm predicted 4 A*s (presumably tier 1) and I got my offer 2 weeks ago, but I know other people with high grades who have not received an offer yet 🙂

I’m in the same position as you - predicted A*A*AA and doing EPQ altho don’t have a PG for it - I think they’re only giving offers to tier 1 at the moment as like you said everyone on here who has an offer seems to be triple A*, and I know a couple of people with Law offers from Exeter and they are all triple A*. One heard back after 3ish weeks. Our time will come though!

Well done on the offer!! It seems like they're working their way through the tiers then so hoping tier 2 gets offers soon!!

I'm glad there's some sort of pattern with who's getting offers first, it's reassuring to know that we'll be soon!!

Hi everyone,

My name is Kitty, I’m a third-year History student studying at Exeter’s Streatham Campus. I’m particularly passionate about Native American history and am in the process of writing my dissertation on the recovery of Native American Indigenous identity during the Vietnam War.

Outside of my studies, I’ve been involved in a number of societies including film society and running society both of which I have thoroughly enjoyed! Additionally, there are loads of great pubs, bars and restaurants within walking distance from me, perfect for balancing uni life with more casual and chilled fun with friends!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have about studying at the University of Exeter, or student life in general! I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi @Student922,

Congrats on receiving an offer! I'm in my final year studying History so can hopefully provide you with some useful insight!

First, I would say there is a really excellent range of modules on offer. In your first year you are required to take three compulsory modules: Becoming a Historian, Understanding the Medieval and Early Modern World, and Understanding the Modern World. These provide a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and interests and kind of get you up to speed with the basics of studying History! In addition, throughout your three years, you get to choose from a range of more specific subjects; a few of my modules have included the American West, Slavery and Piracy, and Britain in the Age of Revolution. Hopefully you'll find there are plenty of options to cater to any specific interests you have! I'll include a link to the modules available here. Keep in mind that they are subject to change each year, but should give you a basic understanding of what's on offer! I would also add here that the quality of teaching is excellent, staff are friendly and made the transition from A-Level really manageable. My top tips would be to ask for help when you need it and work out a schedule that works for you - contact hours are relatively low for History (I currently have about 6 hours a week), so there is a real emphasis on independent study.

In terms of the social scene, there is plenty of opportunity to engage with the student community, whether that be through your seminars and lectures, by joining societies, or making friends in your accommodation. Societies are an amazing way to get to know new people, and I would really recommend taking part in as many as you can in your first year! There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants and clubs in town - perfect for a night out to get away from your studies! Again, a top tip would be not to put pressure on yourself to find friends immediately - it can take some time to develop closer relationships, and that's absolutely fine! You will have plenty of time to get to know people, so take your time!

I hope this has helped in some way - please feel free to get in touch with any more questions you might have!

How long does it take for Exeter to reply to applications? I sent my one on the 7th of November and received 3/5 within a week. And I am still waiting for Exeter to reply.

On the website it states that they usually respond within 10 business days

FYI, the course I'm applying for is Finance

Hi there,

For those who apply before the January 31st deadline, offers will be sent out sometime before May 2024, although the University aims to respond to applications as soon as possible. Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer, but unfortunately there isn't anything that can be done to speed this process up! For more information on the application/offer process, you can take a look at our After You Apply page.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have!

Hi,
I applied on the 3rd November and got an offer from them on the 7th, but I've applied for history which I imagine is a lot less competitive than finance! It'll also probably depend on your predicted grades
