Hopefully someone from the mod team will "sticky" this new thread for the 2024 application window. (tagged below for ease)
Looks like there are changes afoot for Fast Stream recruitment for 2024.
Looking at the website, there is no "Generalist" scheme anymore. Instead there is a Policy option along with an Operational Delivery option (Operational Delivery has limited locations though)
Other schemes appear to be the same.
The website confirms applications will open at noon on 12th October until noon on 9th November, so now is a good time to research the schemes you may want to apply for!
I've now finished my Fast Stream journey, but always happy to answer either general questions or those related to Project Delivery.

Hi,

I have applied for fast stream 2025 and I have put project delivery as my first choice. I just have a couple of questions I hope you don't mind answering.

How do you find the workload? Do you have to do lots at home/in your own time?

Can you choose your location or did you have to relocate?

What happens if you fail the exams?

Could I do it part time (4 days a week)?

Thanks in advance.

I think for the SJT its good to have a look/think about the different civil service behaviours and how different actions in the questions that come up align with that. I think there's practice tests available for all of them too. I also had applied to other jobs in the CS prior to FS and they had similar tests so that gave me some experience.

Could you point me to the right direction where i get the correct questions to prepare for please. thanks

Thanks for starting this thread—really helpful for anyone looking into the 2024 Fast Stream! Interesting to see the shift away from the "Generalist" scheme; the new Policy and Operational Delivery options should give applicants more focused paths to consider. And good shout on the limited locations for Operational Delivery—definitely something to factor in early.
Appreciate your offer to help with questions, especially with your experience in Project Delivery. That insight can be invaluable for those just starting their journey!
