Could someone give me some advice please as this is the first time I’ve applied for the fast stream. For the WBS I got limited capability for the case study, but higher than the majority for the learning assessment. Do I still have hope to get into the assessment centre or no?

I applied for
1) Houses of Parliament
2) Government Policy

First of all, congratulations on getting to the WBS on your first attempt.

Honestly, it is very unlikely that you’ll progress to FSAC for the HoP scheme. That isn’t because you didn’t do well - other candidates in this thread have received similar scores and the WBS are much more difficult than the first round of assessments; given how few candidates they recommend for HoP, however, you could get higher than the majority of applicants in both assessments and it still might not be enough to progress.

Government Policy is less certain. This is the first year that the scheme is running, so we don’t have any data on the applicant success rate. In previous years, it would be unlikely for a candidate to progress to the FSAC with a below-average result for either assessment. However, people HAVE previously progressed with two results in the average range - and I believe that the Learning Assessment has previously been afforded more weight than the Case Study. Again, we don’t know whether that’s the case this year, but, if it is, you could still be in with a chance.

Ultimately, you haven’t failed to progress until they tell you that you have; if it takes a long time to get a result, that could mean that your scores are between the coalescing pass and fail marks for at least one of the schemes to which you applied. If that’s the case, you will get a progression decision when they are closer to finalising the pass marks.

In any case, you should take some solace in having got this far; many successful candidates went through multiple rounds of applications to get there; learning about each new stage of assessments prepares you to come back better equipped and your Learning Assessment result stands you in good stead to replicate that success.

I got my results for WBS too!
Case study - higher than majority
Learning assessment - average/ same range

Hoping this is enough to get me to the AC this year. Good luck to everyone else!!🤞

Just found out my wbs results and managed (somehow) to get higher than the majority for both the case study and learning assessment! Obviously pretty happy with that! Hopefully we all have some positive news for the additional information stage!!

Same range for both for me, so I assume that's the end of the road :frown:

Same here. I'm not sure whether I should feel positive about these results or not, given how competitive the fast stream is.

I seem to have gotten through on distinctly average results so far, so I'm hoping the same will happen for this round.

Does anyone know if they've started sending out negative responses for the WBS stage yet?

Congrats! I rarely see people get above average in both!

Did you answer the questions for both assessments with the same rationale? Or did you have to take a different approach for the learning assessment?

I got “same range as other candidates” in both CS and LA. This is my first time applying, so not sure if this will mean I’m out, but fingers crossed!

I got the same and it is also my first time applying. Praying for us both

I suspect that these figures deliberately aren't released, but is there any data on what percentage of applicants make it through to WBS and then FSAC?

There's an old Guardian article that says about 2700 were invited to FSAC from 37000 applicants but that data is nearly a decade old and there's nothing at all about what percentage have WBS unlocked.

I just checked my home page and the WBS section now says:

“Congratulations, you've passed this section and can now continue to the next section.”

I haven’t received an email yet, but it looks like things are moving. Good luck, everyone!

What did you get in the online tests and what schemes did you apply to?

You might be able to submit a FOI request about the number of people successful at each stage for each scheme, I remember someone did that for HMRC’s TSP one year

Within the WBS, I got within the average range on the case study and higher than the majority on the learning assessment.

I applied to:
Government Policy;
DDaT;
Operational Delivery;
Finance

It’s worth noting that I don’t think that any of these schemes have an additional information stage, so that might be a factor.

What did you get in the work study, SJT, and numerical? Do these test count towards you going through to the questions and/or the Assessment Centre?

Yeah, that could be worth a try. Seems a bit excessive just to satisfy my curiosity though!
