I just checked my home page and the WBS section now says:

“Congratulations, you've passed this section and can now continue to the next section.”

I haven’t received an email yet, but it looks like things are moving. Good luck, everyone!

Amazing, well done!!

Congrats! I rarely see people get above average in both!

Did you answer the questions for both assessments with the same rationale? Or did you have to take a different approach for the learning assessment?

Thank you!

So I did look at the civil service profiles, but to be honest the main thing that helped me was noting down the bits that I thought were useful just so I had them to refer to. And yh, I kind of just went with my gut instinct.

What did you get in the work study, SJT, and numerical? Do these test count towards you going through to the questions and/or the Assessment Centre?

My results in the first round of assessments were:

WSQ - A lot of alignment
SJQ - Above average
Numerical - Higher than the majority

However, as far as we know, results from the first assessments are only taken into account in determine your progression to - not from - the WBS. This could, of course, have changed, but we don’t have any definite information.

Yeah, that could be worth a try. Seems a bit excessive just to satisfy my curiosity though!

It would probably satisfy a lot of people’s curiosity tbf 👀

The data for each scheme is available up until 2021, I believe.

Thanks, that's really useful! It's interesting that the number of applicants in 2018 was so low compared to 2014 (~37000) and 2020 (64697) and 2021 (59603).

2020 and 2021 applicant numbers from https://www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/article/explainer/civil-service-fast-stream#:~:text=The%20fast%20stream%20has%20grown,slightly%20to%2059%2C603%20in%202021.

Wow that’s a lot of people applying, kinda scary. I wonder how many are still in the running at this stage

I got my results. For the case study I got ‘your responses to the case study demonstrated some capability to make appropriate judgements in situation presented’. And for learning assessment I got ‘some capability’ as well. I think that’s both average. Is that good news? How likely am I to get to the assessment centre?

Reply 609

Hello everyone. Yet to complete WBS. Any tips for both Case and Learning assessments? From what I understand we should use same approach for Learning assessment as for the SJT?

Reply 610

Hello all, after completing the WBS do we wait for an email offering us the additional information to complete or to reject us? Or is it going to appear on our profile?

I think we’ll get an email once the additional info is available (or rejection). Although sometimes it appears on your profile before you receive an email. Either way, I’m refreshing the page every 30 minutes in anticipation!

Best of luck!

Last year I got average and then got an invite to assessment centre. I was hopeless 2 but it worked out fine for me. Please don’t lose hope.

Did you get average in both ?

Reply 614

Just got the email saying I've made it to the additional information stage! Hopefully we should all be hearing back soon

I got "higher than the majority" for both bits! But yeah, it seems like we should be finding out sooner rather than later

Yes last year I had average in both. I did attended and passed assessment centre. Didn’t do well on FSB.

Got results on website. No email yet and no confirmation about proceeding to next stage.
WBS - Both - Higher than majority

Reply 619

Had an email a couple of hours ago saying I passed WBS and am on to additional information! Found the WBS really hard but managed to score above average in both. Applied to GORS as my top choice. This is my second time applying and I'm further than last year
