How do you know which schemes you passed for? I just got a general you passed WBS and asked to do the additional information section.

if you are unsuccessful with any scheme, there is a little section highlighting that. If you don't get that then you passed all of your choice.

I’ve had my FSAC today - has anyone had theirs yet and have you/how long did it take to hear back?

Only one person I heard so far already had their results and been invited to FSB. I know someone had their FSAC few weeks ago and have not had their results yet. Good luck.

Hello guys, this is a stupid question but how do we join the Assessment Centre? Will they send a link on the day?

You will get an email from your FSAC leader the afternoon before your AC asking for proof of ID and providing you with the Google Meet link to join the next day.

To those who did your FSAC already, how did you find the Team Scenario?

I feel as though I did quite well on the Written Scenario and did maybe a little above average on the Leadership scenario but had a slight panic over two of the questions and some repeating myself. However, I don't think I did well at all in the Team Scenario due to slightly glazing over while reading the instructions and misunderstanding what we had to do. Everyone else on my team was able to communicate really effectively and eloquently, but when it came my turn to speak I found myself having nothing of substance to add so I ended up stumbling through a half-thought-out response which didn't make much sense :frown:

I guess I'm asking for some reassurance/feedback on how others found the TS? I'm wondering if this might be the end of the line for me considering how badly I feel it went :frown:(((

Listen do not dwell on what had went wrong. These assessments centres are not that simple you might had done better than you think.
Regarding scoring your pass marks will be calculated as total of all excises. Good luck and you will be invited for FSB.

Don't worry! Team scenario is not too focused on what substance you say in the conversation, but the behaviours you're showing. Sounds like you did well across the board.

My weakest was the written I think as I ran out of time on the second part and made some silly typing mistakes etc as I was rushing. Leadership I think was similar to you- a couple questions where I had nothing good to say lol and got panicked and was clearly waffling.

Im super nervous to hear back!! Good luck x

Likewise to you. By the time you will have your results you will be surprised how well you have done. I had not seen anyone saying they been brilliant in assessment centre and it is designed in such a way.
Get ready for final selection board . Good luck

I hear back within a few days. I get the impression they don't look at it carefully and it's probably used at the final stage but I could be wrong

I've still not heard. I am wondering if it's all different timescales depending on the stream(s) chosen. Do you mind if I ask what stream(s) you chose/got through for?

Extra information will be scored with FSB.

I really appreciate you sharing your experience, thank you!! They do say in the FSAC guide that everyone will inevitably have one weaker section so not to worry, but it's really good to hear someone say it too!

Really hoping all turns out well for you too  I'm sure you did great, but of course the anticipation is going to be intense over the next few weeks. Massive good luck to you as well! xx

I figured it would probably be used further down the line. What I meant though was that I have submitted my extra info but not heard anything since. I've not been invited to FSAC or even had a confirmation email to say I have submitted the extra info (if they even send those). It's probably just the stream I am on, but I have to admit, it's a bit stressful seeing everyone else get FSAC invites a day or two after extra info, and here I am still waiting nearly a week later 😄

Eta: I've just read on the CSFS page that it can take up to 2 weeks for them to assess the extra info. I'll probably stop checking my homepage every 20 minutes now!

Hi, can I ask at what stage did you have to do the knowledge test. Do you have to get your higher education/extra questions stuff approved before you’re allowed to sit the test. I’m confused because I’ve just submitted the extra information for Social Research without sitting a test.

Hi, sorry when i say test I meant additional info questions. I submitted additional info for all schemes then just got rejected for Social Research after submitting it.

I chose HR, Project delivery and Property in that order. I've got the AC in Feb

Can anyone recommend prep materials for the AC? I'm really worried about the written section because I haven't had to do a timed written exam in over a decade- left university in 2009

I've been looking around and haven't found anything specific to the Fast Steam. My best suggestion is to find a topic on the news where you have quantative data and information then try writing a 30-40 minute piece about it and suggestions as to what you would do to resolve the issue.

Hey, has anyone heard anything about the results for the assessment center.

I had mine a few weeks ago and they said likely to hear back end of December or early January.

I applied to the Summer Internship Programme and I have managed to secure a telephone Interview (the final stage). However, I am quite confused because it does not state what scheme(s) my application managed to succeed in. I emailed the Civil Service team, but they said that as far as they know, I have managed to get to the final stage. I am so confused because my interview is next week and I want to be aware of what I have applied to, just so I can start preparing.

The phone test is a general competency interview, you won't know what you're assigned until after you're actually accepted. That's how it was for the interns of last year at least. From what I remember they weren't matching candidates to departments based on preference but rather the role based on preference
So you could have picked Policy as your 1st preference but you could be put in DWP Policy rather than Cabinet Office / HoC / FCDO as you might be expecting.

Don't stress about the interview it's proper chill, take your time and research competency questions so you have a broad idea about what you can talk about if any given question is asked!

Thank you so much! That makes me at Ease now. Do you know, by any chance, whether they provide support with accommodation if you get allocated a place that is further away from your town?

Just seen you'd already been responded to !

They don't provide support for accom but might be able to help with travel costs (depends on department funding to be quite honest)

The departments in Civil Service are relatively flexible and can move you about dependant on availability, plus a lot of work is done remotely so you might not have to travel as much as you initially thought!
