Can anyone recommend prep materials for the AC? I'm really worried about the written section because I haven't had to do a timed written exam in over a decade- left university in 2009

I have a similar fear, it was 2016 for me so a little later but still after 5 years without exams, I do fear I will be a little rusty. My hope is that my experience at work of having to put together information will help me out. While you're not timed in real life scenarios, you won't have competing responsibilities and distractions to consider while doing the written assessment.

Hi everyone,

Just had a quick question regarding the AC.

When they are taking results into consideration, do they look at how you did in the previous stages, like the work based scenarios and other online tests, or do they solely base their decisions on performance at the AC?

I did really well in all the online tests, getting above average, but I feel like I screwed up on the group scenario at the AC, I just couldn't get a word in edgeways, and when I did I don't feel like it was anything of substance! The written and leadership excercise I think went okay, but I guess now it's just a waiting game.

The phone test is a general competency interview, you won't know what you're assigned until after you're actually accepted. That's how it was for the interns of last year at least. From what I remember they weren't matching candidates to departments based on preference but rather the role based on preference
So you could have picked Policy as your 1st preference but you could be put in DWP Policy rather than Cabinet Office / HoC / FCDO as you might be expecting.

Don't stress about the interview it's proper chill, take your time and research competency questions so you have a broad idea about what you can talk about if any given question is asked!

my phone call interview is coming up aswell. do you remember what questions you had last year?

They do not consider previous stages. I also had an assessment centre recently. You might had done better than you think. Don’t overthink you will be fine.

Has anyone yet had any feedback from assessment centre?

Not yet but I only had my AC on Friday. IIRC only the top and worst performers will hear back immediately and the rest of us get amber banded as the schemes finalise their pass marks.

Thankyou - just need to back off the refresh button!

Any news about FSB? Any indication if someone had already been invited?

I'm absolutely the same! I'm checking once a day in case the portal updates before I get an email but otherwise trying not to worry about it too much!

I can recall last year my results of FSAC were out within 24 hours. - I passed.
Only difference was my assessment was in March.
Can’t wait for results

I have a hypothetical question.
If you have passed AC for your first choice and then you have a FSB and if you were unfortunately failed FSB will we get an opportunity to appear in FSB for next scheme down the line.
I am bit unclear, I will appreciate an answer.

I was attending an AC prep session last week and one of the FSers mentioned she heard back the same day but her AC was in February so they'd likely already set the pass marks. Someone in the Reddit thread said we'd know by the end of December/early January so hopefully sooner rather than later!

Anyone else applied for SIP and not heard about interviews? I did EDIP last year btw

I got above average on numerical and average on the other two so hoping I still have a chance :/

I've been looking around and haven't found anything specific to the Fast Steam. My best suggestion is to find a topic on the news where you have quantative data and information then try writing a 30-40 minute piece about it and suggestions as to what you would do to resolve the issue.

Thanks very much for this. Good advice, appreciate it 👍

It depends on the bar of the FSAC score of your choice. It can be the case your 1st choice has the highest bar so if you get through that you also get through your 2nd/3rd/4th, but they are not considered unless you fail your FSB on your 1st. In that case, you will be invited to do FSB on your 2nd choice (if that scheme requires one, if not required you get your 2nd right away).

It can be the other way around, your 1st choice has the lowest bar so if you get through that, your 2nd/3rd/4th choices may not be passed. It is irrelevant if you passed the FSB of your 1st choice(you got your 1st), but if you did not, then you won't get to do the FSB on your 2nd/3rd/4th ones. So you see it depends.

Good luck look at FSAC guide, you will find all the information you need.

Well can’t they at least post the results. Suspense during the festive period is not good for health.

Merit lists could be organised at later stage.

Thanks for attending the assessment centre.
We'll contact you as soon as we've got your result. Keep an eye on your email inbox, including your junk mail.

I am taking their instructions literally. 24/7 keeping an eye on my inbox and junk mail. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂
