My sixth form is making us do 3 study periods a week, plus 1 study for each subject I do a fortnight so this week I only have 5 frees lol.

Damn that's kinda rude of them, apparently we're getting a study period put on ours next week, praying its at a time I'd be studying anyway. Minus 1 or 2, all my frees are 2-3 hours long so I have a lot of time to work with luckily

Urgh for test but YAY for open day on Fri  Any particular plans/talks on your agenda? :colone:

I'm going to the psychology talk, doing tours for the 3 colleges I want to look at (Worcester, St John's and Magdalen) and the admissions talk at Worcester. Also may look at the sports centre because I am a regular gym-goer (just got back actually :u:)

Oh did I not tell you there's a small lake with ducks and geese and a nice Monet-style little bridge? :ahee: My bad :getmecoat:
Hi @thrivingfrog just to let you know I've moved your blog over to the new forum for Grow Your Grades 2023-24. Good luck with everything!
Update- today has been a very successful day! :woo:
Got given some really good feedback on my ps (apparently it's 'very strong' :colone:), got all my planned work done during my free AND started my maths homework. I also spoke to my biology teacher who gave me the A* without me having to use any of my GCSE English Language skills so overall very happy!

Other than the 7 hour round car drive, yeah  I'm pretty certain of the colleges I want to look at but will be clarifying this before Friday

Okay. I agree 7 hours in the car sounds ghastly, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.

Ideally you ought to go around three colleges at least, but it is also very important (imo much more important) for you to go and see what the department of experimental psychology (or whatever it’s called) has to say about the admissions process and what the degree itself entails. That way, you can ask questions and get as many insights into what to expect from your interviews and how to prepare for the TSA.

Yeah I'm looking at Worcester, St John's and Magdalen I think. Definitely gonna ask my questions at the psychology department- need to write some down in my notes before I go so I don't forget anything as I usually do
Woke up at a disgusting 4am today and am now en route to Oxford :woo:

I see. On your way there, it may be an idea to think of some questions to ask whilst you are there. I would probably ask if you could be given an example of an interview question, which I would take note of and then begin thinking about how to dissect said question later. Though it is completely understandable if you decide to sleep on the way rather than think of things to ask.

As soon as we've fixed the sat nav which has lost the GPS signal I will crack on with my question planning
