Applying For Economics In Top Universities

I'm currently passionate towards pursuing a degree in Economics from top universities such as LSE, UCL, King's but not fully aware of what's needed to maximise my chances of getting in. As of current, I'm studying Economics, Mathematics and Politics but I've been seeing a recurring theme of emphasis on having Further Maths and taking the TMAU despite them not being strict requirements, will this badly hinder my chances of getting accepted? I'm curious to know whether anyone's been in a similar situation to me but has gotten offers.

I heard that the TMUA is being scrapped and replaced (?) for 2024 entry and later, so I don't think you'll need to take it, but I'm not entirely sure so may be best to check
