PhD Cambridge 1st year

The first year assessment requires passing one or two modules, a first year report and a discussion to continue into the second year. I want to know what are the chances of passing the first year assessment with a failed module (only one module taken). I am aware that the uni website mentions that it is possible to pass my question is what are the odds. How much say does the advisor have compared to other assessors. Is it farfetched ?

This really sounds like one to discuss with your supervisor, however uncomfortable that conversation might be.
