Hello, Warrington was my first choice. Yes I am in the group.

I am not sure if Warrington are having one or two hubs. My hub has 5 in already and we have completed our shadowing days. I do know that one person has dropped out though so if you are on a reserve list you may get a call

Hey, I was wondering when people are putting their notices in at work? I have hols to use so that means I will need to put mine in next Friday as need to give a full calendar month.

Do we need to wait until we have an unconditional offer from frontline before we do this? I have spoke to my CSW and booked in my shadowing days x

I messaged frontline and told them that I needed to give two months notice so as I had booked my shadowing days in could I give notice. They told me that as I had a confirmed placement then I could x

Hi, I couldn’t see a thread for the 2024 Frontline Social Work programme so thought it would be worth establishing one to chat and reflect!
It seems they have made a few changes to the programme this year, such as increasing the cohort intake and expanding the programme to three years. I think early bird applications opened yesterday.
Wishing everyone the best of luck with their applications!

Hi,

I applied for the programme when an email was sent out for last minute applications spaces in March. Passed the interview and got through the selection process, been waiting to get allocated to an authority since May. I have completed my DBS application and even enrolled to the university which does the programme to then find out today that I have been given a deferral offer for July 2025. I am literally so devastated and emotional. Just before receiving this email I received an email this morning saying that if my DBS is not completed by the end of August THEN it will be deferred even if I am allocated a place.

They said that year-on-year have had deferrals especially for London allocations when it comes to the DBS completion by the police as they can take long. How is that now my fault?
The whole process was so long, applications I filled out were so time consuming for this to be the outcome. I am just distraught honestly.

Hi all
So, I accepted a conditional offer last month and have been eagerly waiting for placement details dbs etc.
Bearing in mind, its mid May - there’s shadowing days to complete, a DBS to get though which can take months at worst, and notice to work all before July. So i emailed recruitment on Friday. No reply yet - however ive had a phone call and voicemail left at 5:30 today from the partnership team, saying they will call again tomorrow.
Now I’m paranoid! Why are they calling and not sending an email!? Should i expect bad news about my placement? Has anyone else had a call from the partnership team that can share their experience? PLEASE?!?!?

Hey all, I was offered a conditional offer last week. I am in London and would really like a London Borough. Has anyone been placed in London? Has anyone been told they can’t have the placement they requested? Frontline have asked to call and speak with me next week about placements, so I don’t know if this means they don’t have anymore London boroughs?! 😭 Did anyone else receive a call about their placements? I’m hoping this is normal procedure!

I think having gained plenty of life and career experience over the past several years has informed my decision to apply again, as I’ve developed more experience working with safeguarding and child protection in the NHS, whereas I think last time I was still an undergrad and hadn’t acquired much life experience.
I attended the talk on Monday too and found it very informative, how about you? Some of the questions asked were very interesting, I agree that it seems this time they are expecting people to have some prior knowledge of the SW profession, and perhaps more established with lifestyle matters like driving etc (I’m beginning my driving lessons in the few weeks with the hope of passing by next July 🙏🏻).
The SJT was insightful because I got a feel for the various scenerios that might arise in reality, I thought it was a very good introduction to the potential situations we may experience on the programme.

Hi, thanks for your comment. Why does the interview last 4 hours? Do you get a break? What is the structure of it? It says it has a writing part. Could you pass more details about your experience? I would be grateful.

Hi everyone,
I was a late applicant and have finished my assessment centre today. Anybody waiting to do their AC still, definitely check the competencies and come up with scenarios that reflect these.
I think I did quite well, definitely found the written assessment hard because you only have 15 minutes to read a load of information and condense it into the written task. I managed to finish it with a few seconds to spare! And it definitely was not my best work.
Surprisingly I found the chat and the role play to be quite good, I was dreading the role play but managed to keep the actor on track and get the points I needed to make across. We shall see anyways, as I was definitely nervous and the process is quite gruelling. Keep your cool and keep confiden!
Good luck and fingers crossed🤞🏻

Could you please tell me more about writing assessment ? What did you have to write about and how much time did you have?

Hi. I wondered if anyone could help me with understanding why Frontline declined my application. It said in my email “You have been unsuccessful at this stage because the answers to the competency based questions in the application form have not met the required standard” . I wondered if that was directly related to the “motivation” and “relationship building” written responses or something else? Maybe because I didn’t use the full 300 word count for each? Thanks

Hi, There is a 2025 Frontline Cohort forum so may be worth asking on there as the forum is active with 2025 intake applicants.

Reply 915

Any experience with deferrals please? I am in 2025 cohort but have been deferred to 2026 as there are no spaces in my LA. I just worry I will not get the placement next year either 😬

Hi!
I know this isn’t a forum for this years applications but would anybody be able to help me out with this question?? I have my assessment centre date coming up, but would anyone be able to give me any insight to the medical checks at the eligibility stage if successful? Do they ask ALL successful applicants for references from the GP or only if you disclose a disability/medical issue? I have had issues with tiredness in past due to a defiancy but all this is sorted now. Would hate for the gp to make it sound worse than it is or for them to decline my application due to this!
