is UCL better than Durham?

im asking for the UK- im not planning on international work abroad, so UCL's international prestige does not really impact me

but in the UK- which is generally seen as better, they are usually ranked around the same in the league tables- usually around 5th or 6th, or 6th or 7th. It seems they are both pretty well matched in the top 5 bracket roughly

In terms of rankings/prestige/reputation they are the same, but they could not be more different in term of everything else like collegiate system, location etc so you choose based on that, not on rankings, and or course on the actual course you want to apply to.
