The TL spec was attached as precautionary measure in case in the future you’re out into a line management position and have to manage AOs
Hi everyone. I have just been offered an interview for this role:
Decision Makers - National Referral Mechanism- Public Safety Group (PSG) - 300651
Does anyone here know anything about it?
I’m considering going for an interview for it eve though I have accepted a formal job offer for an EO team leader role in HM Passport office.
I may not be successful in this other interview but just wondering which role would be “best” in terms of job satisfaction.
Thanks

By all means go for the interview. From what I hear passport better than asylum decision making which has a reputation.

I'm not totally sure but since both as EO and both are in the Home Office you might be able to request a transfer once you're in and pass probation?

No idea - prob depends what unit you're in. I've been told the new IMMRS unit becomes operational in January which might mean they are lenient about xmas?
I've been given a start date of 27th November in Drumkeen. No contact from line manager yet with more details.

Those of you starting on Monday might be able to give me more info to know what to expect!

Once the CTC was cleared then it was very quick - within few days. Are you IMRRC decision maker? If so likely you'll start on 27th November!

Yea that's what I have been offered, hopefully won't be too long till everything comes through
Also Belfast office (HMRC) provided start date of 27th November but have asked to discuss before I accept so waiting on a call any day now. Also heard mixed things. I've asked a few people who work for asylum in HO and been given mixed reviews but everyone is different. I just wish there was more clarity on the role and hours. Have any of you been given anything in concrete I asked for a contract before I accept and was told would be issued in due course

Ha I know the feeling. I was put on reserve for general roles in Feb but then offered this in August and security clearance has come through now. I know of ones working in passport office and they say it's nice. Is it Forestside?

I'd take it, good wage and conditions and then you can work on the work/life balance once you're in 6 months!

The reason I'm confused is that it says decision maker on the email title of job offer but they attached a team leader spec sheet. Who knows. Just got an email saying I'm all cleared and they'll be in touch with a start date!

Woop! This is the same as me too, although I asked them about the Team Leader spec sheet and they said it was an accident and that it’s defo a DM role. I also assume it’ll be Forestside which is so handy to where I live! I completed my CTC checks the other day and they rang me today to say that they’ve received it and are going to start reviewing it now and I should hear back by COB Wednesday. So exciting because it’s been nearly a year 😂

When I asked them about that they apologised and sent me the DM spec ..
Hi everyone. This may seem a strange one but hoping someone on here may be able to help.
I’m due to start in the HMPassport office. It’s beside granny Annie’s.
I’m just wondering if I wud be able to drive into the city and park near by( is there a car park?) or would I be better getting a train and if so would lanyon place be the nearest station?
Thanks
Yeah lanyon station would only be a few mins walk otherwise parking v expensive

Thanks for your reply. Am a bundle of nerves starting now. I have only ever known teaching and the education sector. This will be a whole new world for me.

I'm with you!!!! Patiently waiting on a status change!!! Submitted questionnaire last Friday.
Finally received my start date this morning with a confirmation, I'm due to start on the 2nd January. It was mentioned about 27th November but I'm just glad to finally get a confirmation. Has anyone received a formal offer yet? From my understanding you receive your conformation date then offer, which I always thought it was the other way round. Just waiting for my line manager to contact me about my hours and information relating to my first day.
