Are my GCSEs good enough for med

I wanna do med at a Russel group preferably in the UK. I have looked allot online and ik that gcse requirements aren't extremely high for certain unis and that their min acceptance is grade 6 with a preference for 7-9.

However, med is super competitive. I did maths eng lang eng lit triple science and Arabic.
My chem was a 6 and my arabic was a 9. The rest are all 7s.

Does anyone know from experience anyone who has similar gcses to me who's doing med in a Russel group? Do I need to Retake chem gcse? Can I make up for it by excelling in the rest of my med application? Websites aren't making it entirely clear to me.

the ucat is the main tool used to select for interview. some unis also score gcses alongside the ucat, but many rank solely on ucat and you will only have to meet minimum requirements.
