Decision- whether rejection or offer? I saw some rejections have been sent out already :frown:

Yes. The average time mentioned by the dept. Usually, rejections are sent in December as told by previous students.

But I guess we can assume that even if people haven't received a rejection yet (for those who submitted early), doesn't mean they will get an offer in January

I was hoping all rejections are done already and if you haven't received one yet, it's likely an offer hahaha

Yes, it doesn't mean that they will get an acceptance in January. What I understand is that they use a bottom-to-top approach, giving out rejections to less competitive applications early and keep on comparing the applications till they feel the pool is good enough to hand out acceptances.

Makes sense!

Hi everyone, I'm applying to Msc in Advanced Computer Science at Oxford, I'm a student of the University of Pavia right now in Italy. I was wondering if someone who has already applied or knows the average level of applicants if my application would be somewhat competitive? I'm a bit nervous as I'm filling out my applications now.*

I haven’t graduated yet but my expected graduation grade is 110/110 which is a UK First. I have had two professional experiences during my second year in University which collectively lasted the whole year, one at a Digital consultancy firm called Lynx and the second as a software engineer at Deloitte Digital. I am working on two research projects both in AI (one is for my thesis project and is based on the muZero algorithm developed at google, and one is an independent research project on a new training method for neural networks) both of which aren’t yet publications but will be published in March/April. I have worked as a tutor for the university for 2 different math courses in my second and third year of university, I have participated in a coding competition called IEEE Extreme where my team was ranked top 300 in over 7000 participants. In my first year I won a coding competition with my team organized by Deloitte based on digital support for businesses during the pandemic.*

Apart from my professional and academic background, I also have done independent projects in AI and software in general, I built a Feed Forward and Convolutional Neural Network from scratch in C++ trained on the MNIST dataset. I also build a website and app for my college using Flutter. I also organized a conference based around AI with my college in early December, and in my first year (and this year as well) I organized a business competition in Hong Kong for high school students called Blockathon which had corporate partners like Lenovo, KPMG, and Puma.

Just wondering if prospecting students or people already in Oxford for this course could give me a quick opinion of my background considering the level of competition for this course?

Hi everyone ! I'm applying to the MPhil in International Relations and to the MPhil in Politics (Comparative Government). I'm in the process of completing my applications, and I'm still unsure about the choice of the college. Would there be a better one for these programs ?

Because I went on each website, and I have the impression (maybe false) that they kind of all propose the same thing (societies, accommodation, meals...). Since I'm not in the UK, I won't be able to visit any of them, so I wanted to know if any of you had some recommendation ! I would just like a college which provides accommodation and which has a nice "old" library if possible.

Does anyone know more about the Clarendon Scholarships and if people are receiving offers now, does that make them more likely to get the scholarship?
