anyone put secondary data for diaries? Bcs the parents are collecting it themselves first hand even if the researcher is conducting the study they're using research collated by other ppl

its primary data. the data is still being collected for the researchers own experiment. secondary is when it was collected for someone else's

From tutor2u: Quasi-experiments contain a naturally occurring IV. However, in a quasi-experiment the naturally occurring IV is a difference between people that already exists (i.e. gender, age). The researcher examines the effect of this variable on the dependent variable (DV).

but the researcher would have to get it firsthand themselves, there was a similar q to this in another paper where interviews were taken of prisoners and was secondary, idk i guess i thought it'd be the same for this one
