if i wrote negative distrubution and normal distrubution instead of negatively skewed would i lose marks?

hmm i'm not sure, i think you need the word skewed for the negative one

Answer was A field expt
A researcher placed an advert in a university psychology department asking for third year students to participate in a sleep experiment.
Each student had a sleep tracker watch to wear at home for the two-week study. Each morning they were asked to open the sleep tracker app to view their sleep quality data on their mobile phones. The students were unaware that the sleep data they could see on their phones had been manipulated by the researcher. Over the two weeks of the study, each student saw that he or she had had poor sleep quality for seven random nights of the experiment and good sleep quality for the remaining nights.
Every morning, after viewing the sleep data, each student completed a questionnaire about the previous night’s sleep. One of the questions asked the students to rate how well rested they felt, on a scale from 1–10, after the previous night’s sleep. Apart from this, students were asked to continue their normal everyday activities.
0 9 Which of the following best describes the experimental method used in this study?
Shade one box only.
[1 mark] A Field experiment B Laboratory experiment C Natural experiment D Quasi-experiment

icl i think you’re missing the fact that the study in today’s paper was testing for difference in play in different age groups, the age groups were 2 year olds and 4 yr olds. the age is the IV, the IV is a pre existing factor, so it’s a quasi experiment

yep thats true, you'll have 3 16 markers in paper 3
Will I get marks if i just outlined the role of the endogenous pacemakers and exogenous zeitgebers in the sleep-wake cycle, then talked about research into this in the 16 marker, because i completely blanked that the question said discuss research. i feel like i have completely flunked this 16 marks 😭

guys I put covert observation🫠 how many marks was it? also for the distribution question, was that a 4 marker? what did u put for the two type1 error/significance questions?
is there a mark scheme for today's paper?

If you're on about the type of experiment q it was 2 marks, distributions was 4 marks and for type 1 error it's because the calculated value is still signification at p<0.01
for the type of experiment question will they allow natural experiment as well as quasi experiment cause variable weren't manipulated?

i’m not sure myself but everyone in my class is saying quasi ig we’ll find out

Yeah I'm pretty sure they were
I feel like I always make silly mistakes on exam papers or I know other stuff and it Dosent come up 💀, im trying to work out what I did wrong on the paper. anyone else think its silly that a levels are just on exams, I guess we have paper 3. I just hope I've done enough 🤞

with the 16 marker, i did ao1 of endogenous pacemakers and exogenous zeitgebers, what they are, etc. also talked about how light travels to SCN then signals to the pineal gland, secreting melatonin (hope that's enough??).
then i did ao3 with siffre and his cave study for EZ (then evaluated heavily with generalisability issues) and morgan's rat study with transplanting SCN neurons with manipulated sleep-wake cycle for EP (then evaluated with difficult to extrapolate the results due to animal studies). do u guys think that's enough ao3, or should i have had one more point?

They usually want 5 eval points bc it's 6 marks ao1 10 marks ao3

I literally did the exact same with the A01 and eval points. I did put an extra point in about how they work in infradian rhythms as well, with the Reinberg study. Now panicking because I didn't clock that it said to discuss research in the question. I hope this is still okay??

our teacher always said three decent PEEL paragraphs with one extra, or two detailed with both including extras?

5 evaluation points is crazy. 4 if u have general ones, 3 if theyre well developed. its not two marks per eval
