Is it possible to change both apprenticeship provider and employer?

I am halfway through a 4 year boatbuilding apprenticeship and find the theory of it interesting but the teachers are bad and the job is okay but not what i want to be doing. I would like to do more traditional boatbuilding/carpentry whereas am i fitting out grp boats with premade plywood units doing the same jobs over and over again. Is it possible to change both apprenticeship provider and employer? Would reaching out to other boatbuilding companies that interest me the best way to find if this is an option? Since it's such a long apprenticeship i don't want to start over but i am also not interested in staying at the company i am at and feel like i will come out with a boatbuilding qualification but no experience and a limited understanding of the subject.
