Yes, she said it's really common for people to move from full-time to part time for that reason. 30-40 hours a week is quite a lot. I'd like to know the timetable for dates for reading weeks etc so i can plan around children's school holidays etc.

Yes I usually take time off around the school holidays too. I also want to plan a little winter holiday in Febuary and don't want to do it over a deadline week lol

Was I right in thinking that as we do two modules every 6 weeks, we will also have 2 assignments every 6-8 weeks basically?

I was wondering the same! I think that must be right because if we did one assignment (only) every 7 weeks that would mean 8 modules would take us 56 weeks not including, holidays, reading week and project time.

I'm wondering if they might send out a preliminary timetable a bit earlier than that start date - I hope so!

Hey, did you get the registration email?

I've been on the portal having a feel and look around. There's no dates on the timetable as yet.

Thanks very much! Would welcome any advice from you about whether this course require full time commitment if doing it in one year. I am planning on finishing my job in January to concentrate on my studies but part of me is wondering about taking on a part time job to help with finances.

For someone being a full-time student, it's better to focus on the study full-time. Though I know some full-time classmates have a part-time or even a full-time job. But we need to bear in mind that we probably want to finish this course with a 2:1. So we have to strike a balance between all the responsilbilities.

Hello!

I've recently accepted my offer for a January start and was wondering if either of you has access to our lecture timetable. I haven't received a clear answer regarding whether the course is asynchronous or not. Since I am based in Asia, I'll need to plan my schedule around the time difference.

Additionally, I'm curious about why you chose Brunel over other universities for the psychology conversion course. There seems to be limited information about the individual courses online. I've also applied to the psychology conversion courses at Birmingham City and Roehampton but am still waiting to hear back from them.

Hi there,

I've also recently accepted my offer to study at Brunel for January start, however, I have also received an offer from Roehampton as well and I'm torn between the two!

The pro of Brunel is that I feel that it is a more comprehensive overview of psychology and all the key modules needed to get a great grounding in the subject, the downside, it's more expensive than most online MSc Psychology conversion courses, but it seems to be set up well and more informative than the rest through the webinar and taster class.

The pro of Roehampton is that it is cheaper and it has a module dedicated to my interest of Mental Health, but I feel that it doesn't give a good overview of psychology as a subject, but it is great in its applications to topics of psychology which it also appealing and its live lectures.

I liked other ones like Manchester Met, started there but it just didn't appeal to me so I dropped out. Kent was great, but it had exams and I don't fair well in exams so opted for a course that was solely coursework based. Derby had great options, but it was a part-time course and I wanted to do full-time, I really narrowed down my choices. But it is hard to choose between Roehampton and Brunel at the moment.

Many thanks for your earlier response, Roy! I wonder if you might be able to explain how they give you holiday time (or breaks) across the year? Are these over Christmas and summer for example? Thank you!

Yes, they have the winter break and stuff as you may have seen in the course timetable. But for a full-time student, even with the breaks, it is still a very packed schedule.

Hi @roychan!

I just wanted to ask how you're finding the course so far at Brunel? I've decided to stick with Brunel after seeing how helpful and responsive the staff are!

I second the above comment! I was going to start with Ulster Uni but I just found Brunel and I like the sound of this one more! Especially the option of doing it in 1 year appeals to me. Can anybody let us know how they’re finding the course?!

Hi! I am just wondering if you applied to Adern too? I have an offer there but I need to make a decision by tomorrow as they have given me a deadline and I haven't heard back from Brunel. I am going to start this September hopefully but I am cutting it a bit fine now because Brunel are taking so long to answer me

Hi @abihill

Have you heard back from Brunel yet? Would recommend getting in touch with admissions if you're still waiting on an answer,

I've just applied for an MSc in psychological sciences at Brunel (online). I will be doing this full-time. Would be great to hear other people's experiences of the course or if you are applying this round.

Hi,

I've been accepted onto the Online Psychology MSc for Jan 2025. I wondered if you could share your experience of the course so far?

Thanks,

Aruna
