NHS pre-employment checks

Hello so I applied for an NHS job and they gave me a job offer last week. They emailed me some basic pre employment documents and forms that I had to fill in and send back via email. I have not heard anything yet and it’s been a week. Is it normal for them to take this long? I have done everything but they have not even emailed me back saying if I need to add anything apart from one asking for references and explaining work gap in employment which came last week.

I guess my main question is how long on average does it take from a job offer to starting the job first day?

Yes it is takes a while to gather all Id paperwork, DBS, Occupational Health and references. You can always contact recruitment they are very helpful.
