5th option UCAS politics

I need a 5th choice university for politics and ir, ideally with BBB entry requirements! my top three choices are all AAA which is kinda scary.

What are your original choices. What part of the UK are you looking at. Do you want a campus or city university. If you fee your top choices are scary maybe you should look at dropping 1 for a slightly lower grade university.
Look at
Sussex - good for all Social Sciences and has lots of interesting joint subject degrees - http://www.sussex.ac.uk/politics/ugstudy/prospectus
Reading - https://www.reading.ac.uk/politics-international-relations/undergraduate/undergraduate-courses

If you're on track for AAA then I don't think you really need to have an option with BBB requirements. It's really unlikely you will drop three entire grades in your final A-levels (and if you do then you're probably better served by going through clearing at that time anyway).

Also remember at the end of the day you only need two offers (one for firm choice and one for insurance choice) so you can just as well apply to 3 aspirational choices and I wouldn't consider that out of the ordinary.

I would probably suggest looking at courses with AAB or ABB for your insurance option really? As above consider what areas of the country you might want to live in, what areas of the fields you are interested in, etc. For example if you're really interested in global politics and the politics of non-European countries, you may want to give SOAS a fair consideration as they specialise in that. If you're interested in the history of political thought then you may want to consider another university. Etc, etc.
