I love books and i love analysing them.. but english is ritual burning of some great pieces of english.

Its blasphemy to rip them apart in the psycho-homoertoic-post-modern-classical-garbage way we do!!!
Know exactly what you mean. Reading's one of my passions, but the worst thing in the world is when I have to study a favourite book - it kills it.

I got to do a dissertation on anything I wanted (within reason) and it didn't kill my favourite books (Elizabeth Gaskell's) which I was slightly nervous that it would. In fact, I think I love them more...

I think it's different if you do it yourself, because you can explore what you want about it - I included 2 of my fave books in my coursework, Portnoy's Complaint and The Rules of Attraction, and it didn't kill them either.

But there's something different about being taught a book. You are forced to think in a set way, and come out with staged answers. It ruins it for me.

If I could work through a book alone and write an essay at the end, doing research myself, I wouldn't mind. It's the endless picking apart of every word that makes it dull and lifeless.

Ooh, Streetcar, I did it for AS too...I really enjoyed the question we were though set about whether ot not the play was a tragedy. Blanche, however, I found extremely annoying, silly girl.

Righto, since I'm prone to forgetting...
Platinumki and Pikachoo (and yes I like the double o spelling!!) Good luck with your exams guys...
Raph - Best of luck for the History, do tell us how it goes! I'm leaving you a virtual pressy to keep you going during your last minute revision...I happen to know you like cookies young man (and the rest of you no nibbling now!!)
Awwww that's really sweet Thanks! If I hadn't just repped you I'd do so now

It's so hard though - nicest day of the year and I should be revising

Time to cook pasta... spent the whole afternoon on some stupid software engineering questions when I could have been doing numbers.

Actually I think he's fine for tit hall.

A.

PS: I base this on that the only people I've met from tit hall have either been quite posh or very very strange compscis or assassinsy people.

I'm not posh, I'm Welsh!

Hehe.

Although I'm not at Tit Hall yet, and am unlikely ever to be.
