Meh, you know what I mean. With a population of [insert big number] there'd be all these people running around called Tomas. Three hundred and sixty five groups of 'all these people', but still. Mind you, my cousin is from Portugal (similarish, it's hot and that) and his name is Tiago (from Saint James).
Not as bad as Sweden, where everyone seems to be called Sven Svensson on Eric Ericsson etc.

The name thing is true I believe - my grandfather is a bit of a Francophile as he lives in France with his French girlfriend and phones us up to tell us about it. I'm surprised he doesn't have T-shirt that says "I'm 75 and still getting laid." *shudder*

Anyway, he phones me now on my Saint Day and irritates me, so it must be true (although it may only be practised amongst the older generations/ those from the Charante/ sad farts)
Well, I know people do celebrate the Saints days, but surely not everyone is named after a saint? But then, what about the poor little children who aren't.

I've heard about the saint's day thing vaguely, but don't think it's done much. I'm (half) Catholic (-don't ask ) and I've never done it

loads of people are. There were lots of them :p: I believe Saints actually share days and there is a round up day where anyone else can party.

Hiya French Pikachu!!!!

Well okies if you want an intro from me

Me is Iris Ng - just work out my full name from my username! I'm Chinese, 17 I applied to Cambridge but got rejected - that was Biological NatSci at Emma. Got five offers though and first choice probably either Nottingham (MSci Neuroscience) or Manchester (BSc Pharmacology with Industrial Placement). However if it isn't too late to still apply to Art I might just do that and reject 5 offers for it! and then betray Cambridge and go Oxford for Fine Art At A-Levels I do Biology, Chemistry and Art, and dropped English Literature. Errrrrmmmm I'm famous for being very weird and random and am passionate about Art and God and I'm short... only 5ft2 - or just under - which wasn't fair cus when I was with my ex I could never reach him! Let's seeeeeee - oooooh I looove Japanese Manga and animations and I love the language. I love Cambridge. Oh and I have a talent for annoying people if I wanted to I'm the kind of person who you either hate or love, I think not sure though! Other than that... oh and I chose my name from a dictionary My real name's Ka-Yan but everyone knows me as Iris I like randomness randomness is cool Actually officially Ka-Yan is now my middle name on my passport but it really isn't. :bebored:

Oooooh I'm also famous for using WAY too many smilies on TSR!!!! see my point? so my posts are also very colourful YAY!!!! :marchmell and I love ickle marchmell! :marchmell :marchmell :marchmell I go smilie-mad although I've heard that my smilies have annoyed a few people Seeeeeeeeeeee I told you I have a talent for annoying people although I think it's my reaction generally that annoys people cus I laugh at everything so when people try and annoy me - I just find it really funny which annoys them more!

Oh and I'm the famous chatterbox - I'm sure you've figured that one out by now though! hehe :marchmell YAY!

And French Pikachu - what's your name? you seem really cool - hyperactive on the board, like meeeeeeee *huggles*

So Iris finally ditched us? :bawling: Iris if you hear me come back, your the only one who didnt seem to think i was crazy!

I always thought Willa was female. Ooops!
He'd kill u if he found out Look at his complete intro:
(Original post by Willa)
Ah gee helen I'm touched you consider me a "hardcore boatie".

Intro: Willa, 25% compsci (i.e. a nerd who mascarades as a natural scientist) at Emmanuel College. Let me settle this RIGHT NOW cos I'm sick of it going wrong: I AM A GUY. My nickname is indeed a girls name but it's a long standing nickname which I got from my older brother not being able to say "William" when I was a baby (and he was only just starting to speak)....Willa stuck and so it's what all my family call me!

Apart from the excessive amount of work I have as a natural scientist, I play korfball for the university (not gonna explain what it involves go google it...had enough of peoiple asking "Korfball?! Wha!?")....and I row in the Emmanuel's first boat, which tends to hurt alot!

My hectic life means I have little time to socialise, since I'm always behind on work. But when I do, I prefer the bar or a pub....I'm not a clubbing person at all!

I play the electric guitar (badly) and make pancakes for my neighbours in my spare time (hence my neighbours dont often get pancakes...this tuesday they will though obviously!). My favourite band is Muse, but other than that I like a wide range of music, it's just I'm really passionate about how amazing Muse are!

Can't think of anything else really!

erm... Pope Benedict XVI

grr... does anyone else find Roman numerals really annoying? I always read them literally as "X" "V" "I", not "16" - Especially BBC programmes produced at the end of last century - if you try and work out the date you get as far as MCXXXL... dammit - the screens changed!
