Trinity Singers is non-audition so everyone's welcome. Most college choirs are mainly full of organ and choral scholars and maybe a few more from their own college (apart from Selwyn which uses Newnham as well). Kings' Voices takes a few from other colleges and audition (their main concern is sight singing). CUMS chorus auditions as far as I know. If you're at a good standard but haven't done grades I'm sure they won't be bothered as long as your sight singing is up to scratch.

Oooo maybe I should join. :idea: Non-audition except have to be amazing at sight singing? :eek:

Hahaha, actually no, I can't sight sing. But I do have a grade 5? Hmmm.

the non-audition choirs don't care about sight singing really, as they can't turn you down anyway.

I have grade 5 too. you'll find that when you arrive almost everyone has grade 8 in everything.

Sidney boaties are overly friendly, if Spam's video footage is anything to go by... :wink:

I didn't mention my hobbies... I'm heavily into student politics (college union, women's union, one particular political party's student group and THE union), am the college ladies' swimming captain and am STILL meant to play college rugby. I'm an active member of the college history confraternity. I love bops, especially now that I don't have to help set up all the time. I intend to write something for Varsity/TCS at some point. There's loads more I ought to do. Argh, lack of time! I love the cinema, Cindies and (sometimes) Life, and doing coffee at some of the many places across Cambridge. I hate sleep.

Workwise, I've done:
* Paper 1 - Themes and Sources: Royal and Princely Courts
* Paper 4 - British Political and Constitutional History, 1450-1750
* Paper 5 - British Political and Constitutional History, 1750-1914
* Paper 9 - British Social and Economic History, 1450-1750
* Paper 16 - European History, 1450-1760
* Paper 18 - European History, 1890-1999
* Preliminary German translation

Trying to think what I want to do next year. Might do a dissertation on random family history or Cambridge history or something equally "unintellectual".

"Ticki" became my nickname when my school-friend discovered predictive text. What they think a Ticki is I don't know, especially when Vicki's such a popular name. 10% of people in my year at school were Victorias. *Sigh* I, however, am unique. :biggrin:

Ah gee helen I'm touched you consider me a "hardcore boatie".

Intro: Willa, 25% compsci (i.e. a nerd who mascarades as a natural scientist) at Emmanuel College. Let me settle this RIGHT NOW cos I'm sick of it going wrong: I AM A GUY. My nickname is indeed a girls name but it's a long standing nickname which I got from my older brother not being able to say "William" when I was a baby (and he was only just starting to speak)....Willa stuck and so it's what all my family call me!

Apart from the excessive amount of work I have as a natural scientist, I play korfball for the university (not gonna explain what it involves go google it...had enough of peoiple asking "Korfball?! Wha!?")....and I row in the Emmanuel's first boat, which tends to hurt alot!

My hectic life means I have little time to socialise, since I'm always behind on work. But when I do, I prefer the bar or a pub....I'm not a clubbing person at all!

I play the electric guitar (badly) and make pancakes for my neighbours in my spare time (hence my neighbours dont often get pancakes...this tuesday they will though obviously!). My favourite band is Muse, but other than that I like a wide range of music, it's just I'm really passionate about how amazing Muse are!

Can't think of anything else really!

Lol awwww I can't imagine you as an ickle baby :p: how cute! :biggrin:

Hey Peterborough isn't *that* bad! :rolleyes:

Well ok I hated it when I first came here but that was cus of St Botolph's - stupid school with stupid kids :mad: :frown: It's an ok city - not much to do, must say, pretty boring, pretty crap shopping centre, not that it bothers me cus I don't like shopping...

Although apparently lots of people here go up to Cambridge to shop, while the Cambridge peeps come up here to Peterborough to shop! :biggrin: bizarre! There's nothing in Peterborough, pretty much.

Why don't you like P'borough then Nicky? :smile: And where're you from? (and don't say Cambridge!)

Glad I'm in P'borough though cus I met loads of lovely friends here :smile: although I think Cambridge and Plymouth are my favourite places :smile: used to live in Plymouth it's lovely.
Huntingdon, so approximately halfway between Cambridge and Peterborough. We used to shop in Peterborough (it's better for shopping than Cam and also simpler to get to). Nice cathedral but the rest of the city is a bit soulless...

First boat after one term = hardcore. That or your mens' boat club is desperate :p:

Saw you out today but wasn't allowed to look to test our "best looking seat in the boat" theory because I got told off for it :redface:

Well, our IV was out on Friday, and were eyeing up a few mens' boats, got told off by our cox on the reach because as our first men went past all four of us turned to look (even though they're not that good looking!) While we were waiting in traffic we decided to do a little survey on which position is best looking in the boat - at the moment it's 5 followed by bow and stroke, but we haven't finished yet.

With the exception of the Fitz boat, who we don't talk about :mad:

It all sounds so random :biggrin:

I suppose I wouldn't mind watching guys at sports :biggrin: providing they're fit :p: Although my interest in watching sports lasts for about an hour before it runs out :redface:

Well, that is half the point of boatie men! They rank us out of 10 as well, so it's not like it's one way.

hmph! not if I have anything to do with it you won't :p: btw noel, which discipline do you do on your hourse? (i'm a fellow horsey person btw!)
hourse? interesting... :biggrin: and brunswick (who is also a girl!) u can also be part of the best land economists ever! lol i'm generous and i think 3 of us can share the prestige! :smile:
By the way Noel and brunswick, i count on u to keep the land economy thread alive so that if any other future land economists appear on TSR they can immediately find us!
all these sports... sounds like a huge effort... but sure i will try something!
