I believe they do. My work coach at universal credit that told me about the recent campaign told me you can choose part time or even half year apparently. I’m sure they will discuss that with you soon. Congratulations on your offer. Im still waiting to hear back after submitting my interview on the 26th October.

Good Luck! They do take ages to give out provisional offers it seems - over 6 weeks in my case.

So it seems. Well my status changed on Friday to ‘you will get an outcome soon’ Or some thing like that so at least I know a decision is coming soon 😥

Thank you, tapping into some of that. All the best in your new role.

It’s still the same. Says I should hear back soon with regards to the outcome. 😖

In case it's helpful to anyone else, I have now had a phone call from an actual person regarding my start date which won't be until January at the earliest. They are still doing the checks.

I was able to say that I only wanted to work a maximum of 21 hours and she offered me 3 days a week (7 hours a day which is slightly shorter than the normal working day of someone working full time).

The first couple of months are full time for everyone due to training.

Hi there. I've applied for the DWP role for the London area. Wanted to find out if anyone has been working in this role before, and what the pros and cons are for the long-term?
Thank you 😊

I have gotten an offer and completed employment checks am waiting for resumption date. Am I likely to start in December? Is there anyone who got an offer in Northampton?

Same here, did my interview on the 26th of october, and still waiting!

I applied in September with interview at end of that month. Took 5-6 weeks for result. Now 4 weeks into pre DMP checks. Was offered chance to start without those being completed about 2 weeks ago. Now waiting update as I believe all refs back. Definitely won’t be starting before end of 2023. Spoken to sscl a couple of times but no real info available. Have asked for contact with recruitment to discuss if can do anything to chivvy any checks on but no reply It is a long process. Teaches patience.

The way it worked for me was the JCP manager asked me to make a request, and that was passed on to her line manager. My request was partially agreed (part time weeks, but not part year at all). So once the full time training is finished I'll be doing 4 days a week, and 7 hour days, so 28 hours a week. Another option would have been three longer 8 hour days. Hope that's helpful.

Did you request this when you were offered the position initially? Thank you

No, I think it was when they contacted me regarding start dates. Good luck!

That's good. I was shafted with my part time request for 30 hours and so I resigned.

I was obliged to do it over 5 days and wasn't permitted to have a full day off. After joining, I found out pretty much all of my part time colleagues had full days off.

Because of management targets for the number of Work Coaches present in the office at 5pm, I was required to start my shifts late mornings up to 3 times per week rather than having a fixed shift pattern that allowed me to finish mid afternoon everyday.

My line manager was angry when I filled in a shift pattern where I wanted to finish late at 5pm once a week.

I was also given a similar caseload to to those in full time employment and very little built in admin time.

Back to back brief appointments meant I had loads of admin to finish each day that kept me there after my last customer finished and had to stay on. I could rarely take my tea break or a full lunch.

So I was basically working full time for part time wages and had unpredictable shifts that varied from week to week, including the dumb ones where I was made to start work late morning or lunchtime, potentially up to 4 times per week.

That’s disappointing isn’t it. Hope you’ve moved on to a better setup
