Assuming you've used your school's buzzword, then it's your school who provide your academic reference, rather than an individual subject teacher.

In reality, this likely means your form tutor or someone similar within the school who knows you. They'll likely liaise with you subject teachers in order to find things to say which will present you in the best light academically. Different schools will handle this differently. Ask your school how they handle it.

In short, it'll likely be a collaborative effort, with no fixed way in which it works.
